Riverdale Season 6 Episode 21 is the second last episode of the season! Whatever happens in this chapter will affect the finale, and by this time, we usually know what a large portion of it will center on. This season has focused a lot on Percival and the terrible things that he’s done to the town, and we know that he hasn’t finished yet. In contrast to a terrifying road trip adventure, a visit to Riverdale’s “Upside Down” in Episode 20 was more of a fact-finding mission. The goal was to learn more about Riverdale’s current Big Bad, especially with a war on the horizon. However, with only two episodes remaining in Riverdale Season 6, any new discoveries or information are more crucial than before. More than anything else, this episode’s first chapter was exposition-heavy. Percival essentially lay out everything; he talks about his background, his major driving force, his ambitions, and the reasons behind his actions. Additionally, the nearby characters filled in the remaining blanks by describing the powers and the reasons behind everything that was happening.
Riverdale Season 6 Episode 20 Recap
Before diving into Riverdale Season 6 Episode 21, let’s quickly do a recap of the previous Episode. In Episode 20, Alice and Percival are conducting an on-air interview as they sit down. He asked that they have a conversation before broadcasting Kevin, Reggie, and Mr. Mantle’s executions. Alice, who has been brainwashed, fully agrees. We find out more about Percival in the interview: Along with the other founding members of the town, he arrived in 1580 on The Ruby Pearl. When he decided to study witchcraft, he was found out and was sentenced to death. The devil then visited him after he had been abandoned to starve in the woods. Percival struck a deal, offering his soul in return for freedom and immortality.
The Devil fulfilled his request. So it came as a surprise to him when he went back to Rivervale more than 400 years later to learn that an explosion had brought him to Riverdale. He found himself in a different universe all of a sudden, yet he managed to adapt. As Rivervale’s energy levels seeped into Riverdale, giving a few of the residents powers, Percival started working to make sure he’d win the battle for Riverdale’s soul. Jason informs Cheryl that Augustus is gathering ghosts to attack the living on the other side. Percival desires to use his train to transport the ghosts in question back to their original locations.
When Alice starts asking questions about Percival’s strategy, he responds by describing “the sovereign state of Percival.” He seeks complete and utter authority over everyone in the community, including the deceased. Riverdale Season 6 Episode 21 will release on 24 July 2022 on The CW. This episode is titled as “The Stand”. Episode 21 was directed by Cierra Glaude and written by Danielle Iman & Evan Kyle. The Synopsis of this episode is as follows: “The forces of good and evil ultimately clash, resulting in some surprising revelations, as Archie and Veronica’s attempt to reason with Percival doesn’t go as planned. The cast of this episode also includes Madelaine Petsch, Drew Ray Tanner, Casey Cott, Mädchen Amick, Charles Melton, Vanessa Morgan, and Lili Reinhart”.
The Riverdale writers won’t just wrap everything up and leave the finale as some distinct blank slate that can be explored differently, so we should highlight that there will be a cliffhanger at the end of this. We’re eager to see how some of the upcoming strange and interesting mysteries turn out since they certainly promise to be exciting.
