Where Was Overcomer Filmed?
The majority of Overcomer was filmed in Albany, Georgia. This small city is located in southwest Georgia and has a population of just over 77,000 people. It’s the perfect place to film a movie like Overcomer because it’s got that small-town feel while still being close to larger cities like Atlanta. Also, the bulk of the movie was shot here. With some complimentary scenes also taking place in the locations below we’re about to describe them to you. Additionally, some other notable movies that have been filmed in Albany include Joyful Noise, The Blind Side, and Friday Night Lights.
Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville, Tennessee is another place where Overcomer was filmed. This city is well-known for its music scene and is home to many country music stars. Some scenes from the movie take place in Nashville. The attractiveness of this Southern city, coupled with its nightlife and hospitality makes it a perfect place for film locations. Also, the richness of the cultural heritage of the place, coupled with its folklore —deemed the “Southern Hospitality”— make it an ideal place to go visit if you’re ever there.

Columbus, Georgia
Columbus, Georgia is a small city located in the southwest region of the state. It’s home to just over 200,000 people and is best known for its architecture and history. Columbus was also where a large portion of the movie Overcomer was filmed. Most indoor scenes were shot here, including the portions of the movie that correspond to the fictional Brookshire High School, which in reality corresponds to the facilities of the Columbus State University campus and training facilities.
