Why Did Taylor Swift Leave Country Music?
With the release of 1989, her fifth studio album, Taylor Swift, made it crystal clear to fans that she was done with country music, which was shocking considering her career till then was built entirely on the genre.
At the age of nine, Taylor realized she liked performing and singing, and at age thirteen, her parents managed to get her signed with RCA Records.
She honed her skills as a young country music artist but left the Sony-owned label RCA at age fourteen. She released her country music album titled after her name, and it was as successful as it could be for a rookie teen, spending over a hundred and fifty weeks on the US Billboard 200 music chart.
She continued to put out more country albums, each more successful than the previous one. His albums Fearless, which came out in 2008; Speak Now, released in 2010; and Red, released in 2012, were all successful hits that spotlight her.
But with the release of her 2014 album titled 1989, the singer made a switch from country genre to synth-pop. After putting together this album, Taylor revealed that she had bid goodbye to country music and would not be returning soon.
She revealed that she wanted people to expect more from her and always be on their toes when she released music.
