Synopsis

Our main character, Joo Ran, grew up in a wealthy family. She had the luxury of leading a luxurious lifestyle and was now a stay-at-home mother, married to Jae Ho, a well-known and successful doctor in his field. They lived in grandeur and had a large garden outside their home that Joo Ran adored. Joo Ran was pleased – a loving husband and a lovely home contributed to her dream life.

However one day, when she goes to her garden, she begins to notice an odd odour that draws her attention. She was wary because the garden had never smelled so bad before and thought perhaps something had gone wrong. In an effort to determine what is causing the unpleasant smell, Joo Ran starts her search. She eventually encounters Sang Eun, a lady who has ties with her husband.

Compared to Joo Ran, who had the convenience of having wealthy parents, Sang Eun’s world was very different. She was raised in a low-income household with limited money to sustain her family. Sang Eun still finds herself battling with money and trying to make ends meet even now, after all these years of suffering from poverty.

Now married, she and her husband Yeon Beom lived in only place they could afford to reside in; a run-down flat. With their substandard living and Yoon Beom’s job at a pharmaceutical business, Sang Eun was frequently the target of Yoon Beom’s domestic violence as he vented his discontent on her. She was sad and despised herself for getting married to a violent man as well as her life.

But then, one day, she gets a call saying Yoon Beom has passed away. Joo Ran realises the existence of a connection between her family and Sng Eun, which marks the beginning on the end.
