Plot Of The Show
The four-part HBO documentary series Burden Of Proof has already generated a lot of interest because the victim’s brother will be revealing the previously unknown crime story. Even though Jennifer Pandos’s story was convincingly told by her loved ones in 1987, there were many untold details that her brother had to uncover to fully understand what had happened to her and how horrifying it was.
The Burden of Proof trailer made it abundantly clear that Stephan Pandos was the only person who did not believe his parents when they said Jennifer had left the house. Nearly 30 years after the tragedy, Stephan decided to reopen the case of Jennifer, which allowed him to make startling revelations that he had been ignorant of for all these years despite his repeated attempts to find the answers.
Stephan opened the Burden of Proof trailer by reading notes written by Jennifer, in which she stated that she could not undo the things she had done, that fleeing was difficult for her, and that she was living each day as if it were her last. As Stephan presents himself as Jennifer’s brother, he also says that he visited a lawyer to inquire about his and Jennifer’s parents’ potential liability for Jennifer’s disappearance and death.
Recap Of The Show
In the first two episodes, we saw that in 1987, Jennifer Pandos’ bedroom was missing when her parents, Ron and Margie Pandos, awakened. Years later, Jennifer’s older brother Stephen wants the case reopened because he thinks their parents are to blame for her abduction.
As the police focus on Ron and Margie, the investigators extensively examine Ron’s past as a Vietnam veteran and his criminal history. Margie receives immunity when she testifies against Ron. Stephen finally confronts his father after many years of distance. However, the investigation takes a turn for the unexpected as fresh information surfaces.

In the third episode, we will see a collection of Jennifer’s private writings that provides a portrait of a young woman who is struggling. The investigation is refocused on an original person of interest due to the rediscovery of missing evidence. Stephen is still of the opinion that his mother is the one who can reveal the truth.
In the fourth episode, we will see Stephen finds out about a police subpoena regarding a person from Jennifer’s background and covert court processes as the police inquiry re-heats. Stephen and his family are emotionally impacted by the new evidence.
