Taçsız Prenses, also known as ‘Uncrowned Princess’ in English, is inspired by a Japanese series, Without Family. The drama is the brainchild of Pınar Bulut and Onur Koralp. It is directed by Volkan Keskin.
The narrative of the Turkish drama, Taçsız Prenses focuses on a nine-year-old girl, named Masal. She has grown up listening to fairy tales of her mother, Sirin. But her life turns upside down when her mother gets hospitalized and is subsequently diagnosed with fatal heart disease. Masal, being left alone to deal with raising funds for her mother’s treatment, is exposed to the brutal reality of the world.
While she faces the difficult reality which is far from the fairy tales, Masal has grown up listening to, turns her into a fierce and vicious girl, especially after dealing with her deceiving step-father, Fuat. Thus, putting on a cover over her innocent-sweet personality.
In the meantime, Masal’s new teacher, Evgin, steps into her life as her guardian angel. He starts to bring about a change in Masal by bringing back her sweet and innocent side. She starts to look at life in a positive sense and brings happiness to other people’s life.
