Chae Soobin has been delivering great acting in multiple dramas for a while now. She has proved her versatility by taking up diverse roles that show her incredible range as an actress. She made her debut in 2014 with the film ‘My Dictator’. Since then, she has slowly climbed her way to the top and started starring in lead roles. Chae Soobin was street-casted by a casting director. Love in The Moonlight

It obtained 23.3% viewership while it aired and was loved for multiple reasons ranging from production, acting, story to its soundtrack. ‘Love in The Moonlight’ tells the story of a crown prince, Lee Young, and his journey to becoming a King. It focuses on the relationship he shares with a eunuch in the palace called Hong Raon.
Chae Soobin played the role of Jo Hayeon, the daughter of the Minister of Rites. The character she plays is arrogant and straightforward. She is selected as the crown princess for Lee Young, which causes her to create conflict between Raon and Lee Young. This drama allowed her to display her skills in enacting an antagonist quite well. Her performance in this series gained her recognition and paved a way to her getting lead roles in the future.
Cheer Up!
‘Cheer Up!’ is a coming-of-age drama that touches on topics of friendship, youth, school life, and romance. It is set at an elite school where students are pressurized to work extremely hard. The vicious atmosphere that is created to push students to do better academically gives a lot of them a hard time. Jung Eunji and Lee Wonkeun star as Kang Yeondoo and Kim Yeol, respectively. Yeondoo heads a dance club, whereas Yeol is the head of a club consisting of the top 5% of students of the school.
Both of them do not get along but decide to put aside their difference when their clubs are forced to join hands and become a cheerleading team. Chae Soobin plays the role of Kwon Sooah in this series. Sooah is in one of the top 5% students of the school. She is ranked second but receives so much pressure from her mother to become number one that she loses the warmth in herself. Sooah’s character can be best described as manipulative and cold. Chae Soobin does a fabulous job of portraying these characteristics. It is an underrated drama that everyone absolutely must give a watch.
Rebel
‘Rebel’ is a historical drama that tells the story of Hong Gildong (Yoon Kyunsang), a revolutionary activist. He is the son of a servant and indulges in thieving from the rich so he can provide for the poor. This drama is set in Joseon, during the time when the king Yeonsangun was ruling. It delves into the meaning of being a true leader and the conflicts between the King and Gildong. Chae Soobin plays the role of Gildong’s love interest. She proved her abilities as an actress yet again with her performance in this historical piece.
Strongest Deliveryman
Following the story of two delivery workers at a Chinese food restaurant, this romance drama gave Chae Soobin the chance to play a strong character. She plays the role of Lee Danah, an independent and hard-working girl whose only focus in life is to make enough money to leave her homeland. She is very straightforward and bold and doesn’t get along well with the new worker, Kangsoo (Go Kyungpyo), where she works at first.
As time passes, they both became friends and slowly more. Danah strictly minds her own business, whereas Kangsoo is a justice-loving man who does not hesitate to meddle in any situation if he feels something needs to be set right. Their differing personalities put the both at odds eventually but slowly bring them closer. ‘Strongest Deliveryman’ is one of those dramas that gives you satisfaction upon watching and allows Chae Soobin to deliver a different role yet again.

Where Stars Land
This unique and charming romance drama is set at an airport. It shares the story of two workers at the Incheon Airport and how they meet, the incidents that occur as they share a workplace, and how they fall for each other. Lee Jehoon plays Lee Sooyeon, a mysterious and reserved member of the Passenger Services team. He always maintains a distance with the people he works with and doesn’t have many friends. Chae Soobin takes up the role of Han Yeoreum, a clumsy and empathetic member of the Passenger Services. Her clumsiness lands her in many complicated situations with Sooyeon. Different from the composed Sooyeon, Yeoreum lets her heart dictate her actions a lot of the times.
‘Where Stars Land’ is a drama with a different feel due to its setting. It makes the series more exciting to watch. Chae Soobin delivers a great performance yet again as Han Yeoreum. She shares great chemistry with her co-star Lee Jehoon and does a good job of portraying the kind of person Yeoreum is. Many fans enjoyed her work and her character in this drama.
I Am Not a Robot
‘I am Not a Robot’ is one of Chae Soobin’s most popular dramas. It gained her a lot of fans thanks to her unforgettable performance. The actress plays the role of Jo Jiah, a cheerful girl who wants to make and sell products she makes. This drama is a romantic comedy that focuses on the characters Jiah and Kim Minkyu (Yoo Seungho). Minkyu is a rich shareholder of a company who lives alone due to a rare physical condition he has. This condition limits his ability to have physical contact with anyone. When he is about to invest in a robotics project, he decides to test the work of the professor working on it. The professor is also Jiah’s ex-boyfriend, who modelled the robot on her appearance.
Just as he is about to give the robot to Minkyu for testing, a malfunction in the system causes a stop in his plans. He contacts Jiah and begs her for help in impersonating the robot as he does not want to lose out on the deal. Jiah absolutely does not want to take it up, but she needs the money it can bring her. Chae Soobin does a great job of faking the robot and showed captivating chemistry with Yoo Seungho in the drama, which earned the drama good attention internationally.
A Piece of Your Mind
Chae Soobin’s latest work on the television screen, ‘A Piece of Your Mind’ can be described as a healing romance drama. It follows the lives of AI programmer Moon Hawon (Jung Haein) and music engineer Han Seowoo (Chae Soobin). Hawon is the CEO of AH company, while Seowoo specializes in recording classical music. While the former is a reserved and thoughtful person, the latter is bright and warm. Hawon is troubled by an unrequited love he experienced during his youth that follows him to his adulthood. Seo woo deals with the loss of a family or a proper home. Both of them have their own set of worries that plague them and keep them apart, yet they cannot help but be drawn to each other.
Chae Soobin delivers yet another remarkable performance in this drama. She expresses her character’s feelings so well that one is unable to separate themselves from the series while watching it. As a bonus to the gripping story that draws out one’s empathy and the complex characters, the drama has a wonderful soundtrack. It is a beautiful piece of work that warms one’s heart and is definitely something to not miss out on.
