By the Grace of the Gods – Plot/Storyline (S1 & S2)
Season 1 shows the life of a 39 years old man, Ryoma Takebayashi, who is very devoted and works hard. He is so into his work that sometimes he forgets the sense of time yet gets yelled at by his employer. In this world, no one thinks of him as a human but instead as a working machine. One night, while sleeping, he sneezes so hard that he falls off of the bed and bumps his head, and passes. I mean, he dies. As the title of the series, by the grace of gods, he gets incarnated in another world different from earth but mystical; so he can enjoy his new life freely and by his will.
He reincarnates into an 8-year-old boy who knows some magic too. In this world, he develops a keen interest in slimes. And studies about them. Like that, he owns, or we can say befriends 1000 slimes. Ryouma meets various characters with different natures. He gets in touch with the Jamil family, a wealthy household. With the help of Jamil’s family and his slime friend, Ryouma opens a laundry business named ‘Bamboo Forest’, which with time, remains busy. He joins the adventurers’ guild, a type of hunter.
Season 2, which started airing in 2023 winter follows our same isekai Ryouma, who wants to expand his business out of Gimil, the city he used to leave in. He is now 11. With the ambition of becoming a good businessman, he reaches the town of Lenaf as directed by Master Gisseli. He meets Pioro Saionji and his daughter, the person who will help him with the paperwork and place for setting up the laundry store. Ryouma learns about the town and the guilds. In the latest episode, Ryouma is in search of work.

With its new Season on the floor, By the Grace of the Gods is available to various legal streaming platforms except for the official one. These platforms include the famous Netflix, Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Bilibili. Season 1 of By the Grace of the Gods is also available to binge on Hulu, with Disney Bundle offering base and premium plans and packages. The original network for the series is Tokyo MX and FB Fuji.
