Taking celebrities through a life devoid of luxury, the third season of Special Forces VIPs (Wie Durft Wint) is set to start airing its episodes this week. With the last season creating some of the strongest recruits on the show, it will be exciting to see which celebrities will be a part of the new season.
Airing on television since December 2021, this spin-off of SAS: Who Dares Wins follows a similar format where people are recruited and made to undergo military-style training that tests their physical and mental abilities. The training can get so hard that most contestants drop the challenge midway or leave it due to a medical emergency.
Based in the Netherlands, this version of the series casts all kinds of celebrities or well-known people as contestants. They are made to live in complete isolation and hunger from a life of ease and peace. No one is better or worse than the others in the eyes of the trainers, and they make sure that the list of tests they design is exceptionally hard to perform.
Special Forces VIPs: Who Dares Wins Season 2: Recap
In the previous season of Special Forces, we see all the contestants gearing up for a tough time at the training grounds. The season started with about 14 contestants, but many were either sent home or decided to give up midway. Only three recruits remained on the training grounds by the last few episodes.
Whether the contestants were celebrities or normal people, all of them were made to go through grueling training where they had to overcome any fear they had. The contestants on Special Forces show up to let go of something or try to become a stronger version of themselves. One of the last assessments in season 2 included climbing up to the top of the mountain with a giant tree part attached to their backs.
By the final phase of the season, the recruits were made to perform the tests for a total of 24 hours simultaneously, with no breaks in between. They were made for walking through the forest ground with a blindfold and could not find the time or location they were heading to. This created a sense of terror in many of the recruits. We also see a special episode featuring recruit Sylvia Geersen talking about the show’s impact on her life.
