The story is about two childhood friends, Xu Qin, and Song Yan. Both share a great bond that does not please their families. The two have to part ways and grow as career-oriented individuals. Ten years later, Song Yan is a chief firefighter, and Xu Qin opts to be an emergency doctor. Both have dedicated their life to welfare work and serving people.
Fate has decided to give them another chance, so they keep crossing paths for their common goal. However, things are not the same anymore. The two share some feelings that they have buried deep. Fireworks of My Heart Episode Recap
So far, we have learned about the childhood of Xu Qin and Song Yan. They have crossed paths quite sometimes with their respective rescue works. After the mountain fire rescue, the two are going to work together again for another mission.
Episode 22 begins with all chaos as people cry for help and the medical team rushes around. They struggle to get network signals, and when they finally do, they learn that Wangjiang County Yancheng city has been hit by an earthquake of magnitude 6.5.
With the city being the epicenter, the damages are uncontrollable. The China fire and rescue team set off immediately for their rescue work. The medical team also volunteers to do relief work in affected areas.
While everyone is busy packing stuff like cotton swabs, extra clothing, bandages, and food, Xu Qin wants everyone to inform their families. She calls her father and brother to inform them and departs for work. Meanwhile, the fire and rescue team headed by Song Yan had to halt their vehicles due to a landslide. They pack their essentials and complete the rest of the journey by foot.
As they have 72 hours for rescue operations, they make things quick. On arrival in the village, they witness the absolute destruction of houses and people caught under debris. They start their work with full force.
Song Yan motivates an earthquake victim who is a doctor by profession and is upset about his broken hands. Yan tells him to pick up some other work and be thankful for being alive. When Xu Qin arrives on the spot, she operates the same man and repeats the exact words of Song Yan.
Jiang is upset because his mother also arrived in the same area to see his aunt, and now both are missing. During this revelation, another aftershock hits. After tons of relief and recovery work, all sit down to have some food. While the medical team has some eggs, the fire and rescue team gets to eat noodles before resuming work. Xu Qin and two nurses also arrive at a place where Song Yan is trying to rescue people.
They find a lady who has already lost her life. While Xu Qin asks Song Yan to save other people, he notices that the lady is pregnant. Xu Qin performs a C-Section on the spot and manages to save the baby. Song Yan admires her work from a distance. Everyone is happy that the baby has made out alive and safe.
