It’s that time of year when cooking shows start to focus on seasonal foods. In Food Network’s case, it’s time to get ready for the scariest, most ghoulish, and dead-looking desserts in Halloween Baking Championship Season 9. Even though the desserts look gross and not good to eat, they are made with the best ingredients by skilled bakers and pastry chefs who are competing for a cash prize that goes to the winner.
Now, I can’t say they taste good, but based on what they are made of and how they are made, I’d say they are tasty. People like me who like sweets like to watch this kind of show, but you shouldn’t watch it when you’re hungry because you can also get hungry. Before the ninth season of this, All Hallow’s Eve-themed cooking competition on Food Network starts, we have put together all the information you need to enjoy it.
Halloween Baking Championship Preview
Here’s how the championship is set up: There are two rounds in each episode. In the first round, called “Preliminary Heat,” the bakers are told their themes and given different amounts of time to make a small pastry, usually cookies or small cakes.
The winner of the initial round gets an advantage in the second round, but they don’t know what it is until after the outcome of the first round is announced, or sometimes until they’re in the middle of cooking in the second round. From episode to episode, the benefit changes. For example, you could be the first person to use a particular baking mold or ingredient or pick a certain theme.
In the second round, called “Main Heat,” participants have a longer time for baking than they did in the “Pre-Heat” round. In the last episode, they are given several hours to make an enormous surprise in the final round.
This larger dessert has to fit into a fresh design, which is usually similar to the pre-heat theme. The winner of “Main Heat” moves on to the next show. One baker is sent home in every episode except the last one. In the end, the last three or four contestants face off in a round where the winner gets everything.
