The third family is Mitchel Pritchett, he is the gay son of Jay, who is currently in a relationship with Cameron Tucker, who has not married yet at the start of the show (they eventually do). In the first episode itself, they come home from their trip to Vietnam with an adoptive daughter, whom they name Lily. Throughout the many seasons that this show has spanned, we see the day-to-day struggles of the family along with some big decisions as well. The kids grow up together.

Premise
Haley has her own life as Claire constantly nags her to live by the rules. Phil is a real estate agent whom we constantly see trying to become a magician. Manny and Luke become close from the start itself, given they are in the same grade, and Luke helps Manny land a girlfriend throughout the show. As is clear by the name of the show itself, the series focuses on a bunch of families living in the modern era, making a comedy out of their daily routines.
By the ending season, we see our favorite characters finally settling down as the children fly to their respective colleges and life. Haley and Dylan become parents to twins named George and Poppy and shift to Mitchel and Cam’s apartment after the duo shifts to the countryside to live the farm life.
