The shooting of this film began in 1988. The production continued for around six days a week. However, the movie followed a strategy during its shot. The production team shot the interior scenes first because it took time for corns to grow. The corn was grown to reach Costner’s height.
To be exact location, the majority of shots were taken in Dubuque County, Iowa, which is a farm near Dyersville. This location was used as Kinsella home. Also, for other interior sets, an empty warehouse in Dubuque. A few spots in Boston, including Fenway Park, were other important filming locations. Galena in Illinois was the spot for the Moonlight shoot. The scene with headlights required 1500 cars to fill the shot. The creativity used here was using both low and high beams.
