Back From The Brink Season 1: Recap
Chinese historical drama series, which is inspired by the novel “Hu Xin,” written by the Chinese author Jiu Lu Fei Xiang, chronicles the life of a dragon demon who had once loved a woman, Suying, with all his heart. Finally, the day of their marriage arrives, and the dragon demon cannot be more happy than this day. After taking the vows when he was finally going to kiss Suying, she pierced his body with a sword.
Accusing that he is a dragon demon and has not done any good for the people of her community, she wants to kill him, taking his protective heart scale, which holds immense power. Even though Suying fails to snatch the heart-protective scale from the dragon demon, she dismembers his body parts, hides them in different locations, and seals them for eternity. Fortunately, the demon’s soul manages to escape and gets born Tian Yao with a body of a human being.
In this life, Tian Yao has only one mission, which is to find all of his body parts and heart protection scale, which holds all of his powers. However, with the human body and mind, it is nearly impossible for him to get on this tough path of finding his power-bestowing dragon demon bones, so he detains a girl named Yan Hui, who has the seal which can help Tian Yao to reach the location of his bones and ultimately the protective heart scale which he threw in the air while fighting Suying.
At first, Yan Hui is adamant enough not to help Tin Yao fining his scattered bones, but soon she becomes best friends with him and wholeheartedly tries locating his body parts. Seeing how diligently Yan Hui is helping him and accompanying him on his quest, Tin Yao falls in love, even though he vows not to fall for anyone again. While on their quest, they come across various challenges, which they fight and finally complete their journey.

As a result of using the ultimate powers to defeat Fu Yin, Yan Hui disappears in the air, leaving Tian Yao in the trauma of losing his love again. But he believes that he would once find Yan Hui again, so he wanders to the cities, collecting the golden dust from the people and searching for Yan Hui all around.
