Countless amount of Easter eggs can be found in all the seasons of ‘Rick and Morty’, and we believe some more are yet to be discovered. The brilliance of the series is enhanced more with the addition of these hidden gems. Read on to know how “Rick and Morty” still proceeds to blow our minds away.
- The Gravity Falls. These have been the most obvious references so far. In one episode called ‘Society of the Blind Eye’ in Gravity Falls, a giant portal has made its appearance. In the episode, Grunkle Stan’s notebook, mug, and pen get sucked into the portal. The same items can be seen coming out of a portal that Rick has created in “Rick and Morty”.
- Mysterious Arrival of Parasites. In the episode ‘Total Rickall’ of Season 2 episode 4, we see a mysterious arrival of parasites. But it is not as mysterious as it looks. A previous episode, ‘Mortynight Run’ solves the case. In that episode, Rick is seen to be digging up shiny green rocks which contain the eggs of the parasites.
- “Time Travel Stuff.” We know about the adventures Rick and Morty have encountered beyond dimensions, spaces, and universes. But have they ever traveled through time? The creators used their creativity to answer that question. In an episode, Rick is seen in his garage with a box labeled “Time Travel Stuff” shoved on his shelf. It is a metaphor that the box remains unused, and therefore they will never be seen to time travel.
- Harmonious Claptrap Vanity Card. This one is a bit sadder. Dan Harmon is much loved for “Rick and Morty,” and it is evident in the popularity of the show. His life has changed a lot between seasons 2 and 3 after his divorce. He included a glimpse of his after the divorce as it shows him alone with his pets with alcohol and mess all around. While in the previous seasons, it showed a happy picture with Harmon, his wife, and his pets.
- Pop Culture References. If you randomly open an episode from “Rick and Morty,” you’ll most likely find a pop-culture reference. The show is full of them. Be it “A Rickle in Time” referring to the iconic novel “A Wrinkle in Time” or “Anatomy Park” referring to the film “Jurassic Park.” There have been millions of other references made, including “Inception”, “Breaking Bad”, “Mulan”, “Jaws”, and “Iron Man”.
