With new groups debuting almost every day, K-pop has become a huge industry with so many groups and soloists. The industry is filled with loving fans, grand award shows, and amazing artists who will give you a tough time choosing your bias.
The majority of people today are stans of any one K-pop artist. Anyone can find a group that matches their likes and favorite genres. No matter their age, everyone is welcome in every K-pop fandom.
Many groups, not only from the big 3 entertainment companies but also from numerous other companies, are debuting every year, leaving fans with a lot of options to choose from. Many of us don’t even know when many groups debut, and it stays that way. This leads to some groups, even with incredible talent, never being discovered.
Even with such a huge amount of artists, it is pretty rare to see a group of kids in a K-pop group. Many do not even know that there are K-pop groups for kids. But some kid’s K-pop groups still catch the eyes of fans everywhere. One such group is 4CARAT.
Under the labels Young Bridge Entertainment and IC Entertainment, 4CARAT is a South Korean K-pop kids group. They currently are a group of three girls, two vocalists, and one rapper. The group started their careers very early, at the age of 9, yet they are very professional and excellent performers. They have an amazing stage presence and are also very energetic.
Overview
The K-pop kids group, 4CARAT, is a four-membered group. The members are Han Somin, Lee Subin, Ha Yerin, and Park Sujin. 4CARAT is managed by Young Bridge Entertainment and IC Entertainment and is also under the guidance of Choi Suengmin, a member of the 1997 boy band Young Turks Club.
The existence of this K-pop group 4CARAT came about in late 2018. They announced their official name and also their appearance in their first-ever dance showcase at “LOUD 2019”.
The group was well received by the audience as they performed their song “Nanly,” which turned out to be their debut single as well. The group officially debuted in the month of March 2019. 4CARAT consists of two main dancers, one main vocalist, and one main rapper. With an upper hand on dance, the group shows of its energetic choreographies and amazing vocals. Ahead of their debut, the group participated in many dance showcases.
They released their debut single, “Nanly”, on 11 March 2019. “Nanly” crossed 50K within the first month of its release on YouTube, letting 4CARAT achieve a great milestone. “Nanly” caught the attention of many South Korean fans and also many international fans. The group performed not only in Korea but overseas as well in places like Tokyo, Japan.
Although very young, the members are all very enthusiastic performers and love to be on stage. They were often found making new content for fans regularly around the time of their debut.

In between their comebacks, they also performed for their fans in different events. Amidst their promotional activities for their debut single “Nanly”, the rapper and dancer of the group, Park Sujin, left the group for unknown reasons.

After their break, 4CARAT came back with their second single, “Be Breathless”. This song turned out to be a complete turnaround from the debut single. Keeping their energy and enthusiasm intact, the girls came back with another pop song that made their fans want to dance. The change in the style and genre made the fans more intrigued and left them wanting more.
The frequent changes in style and the various covers of different K-pop songs prove that 4CARAT is a very versatile group. They are always adapting to different genres and still excelling in them.
Their second digital single, “Be Breathless,” was just as successful as their debut. After the release of their second single, the girls landed their first-ever special broadcast on SBS.
The group was also all set to make their appearance on the special broadcast on SBS. Unfortunately, their performance and its special broadcast were cut off due to the spread of COVID-19. After a successful comeback, their member, Ha Yerin, went on to pursue a solo career. She was always the most active one when it came to posting dance covers and freestyles. So it was no surprise that she also had plans for a solo album. The announcement of her solo single was released in the mid of the month of July 2022.
Then later, videos of Yerin dancing with the choreographer of her first solo single, “Strawberry Milk,” were released. Then around the month of November 2022, “Strawberry Milk” was finally released.
After the release of “Strawberry Milk,” Yerin started working on her next comeback. This was named “Yerin’s Secret Diary.” Some of the behind-the-scenes footage and pictures of Yerin were also posted, but no official information about the release date of the song or the teaser has been made yet. Fans might have to wait a little more for the news.
The girls are also a part of the Dbos Dance group. As the CEO of Dbos Dance, their choreographer and general producer, Choi Seung-min, encourages the girls to learn new dance routines and helps them make new content. He is not only involved as their producer but also helps them a lot as their instructor and mentor in the K-pop industry. Since Seungmin was a part of the Young Turks Club, a kpop boy band, the girls make dance covers of a lot of their songs too.
Debut
The debut of 4CARAT was first announced on the 27th of December 2018, along with the invitation to their dance showcase. On March 11, 2019, 4CARAT made its debut with four members, Han Somin, Lee Subin, Ha Yerin, and Park Sujin.
Their debut single, “Nanly”, features all four members dancing and singing along to a hip-hop song with drumbeats. Even before their official debut, the group has taken part in many dance showcases, such as “Loud 2019”. These dance showcases were the first time the group was revealed to the public.
According to the group, 4CARAT means “four valuable diamonds,” as the group started off with 4 members. Their debut music video, “Nanly,” crossed 50K views within the first month of its release. As the main vocalist, she leads the chorus of their debut single, “Nanly.” Along with her other team members, she also took part in many dance showcases and is also a part of the various dance covers they have posted.

Lee Subin
Lee Subin, professionally known as Subin, is the main rapper and dancer of the group. She started her career in 2019 and is still a part of the group. She was born on the 18th of June,2010, in South Korea.
As one of the main dancers of 4CARAT, we can see her take the lead not only in the music videos but also in their dance practice videos and dance covers. She has been featured in both their music video of their singles.
Ha Yerin
Ha Yerin, professionally known as Yerin, is the dancer and the sub-vocalist of 4CARAT. She started her career in 2019 and is still part of the group. Apart from that, she has also released two solo songs and albums. She is the only member to have solo work in the group. She has posted many dance covers of many popular songs like “Scientist” by Twice, Hey Mama, and more. She has also posted many freestyles.
She was born on the 26th of October,2010, in South Korea. Ha, Yerin is the maknae (youngest) of the group. Yerin has always been the most active member of the group. She spent a lot of her time in her break to vlog, posting dance covers, and practice videos. This slowly leads to her also having her own solo career apart from her activities in her group.

Her first solo single, “Strawberry Milk,” is a fun, upbeat song released in the month of November 2022, more than 3 years after their debut. The announcement of her solo career was first made through their official Instagram handle on the 15th of June, 2022. The announcement came along with a picture of Yerin in the sets of her new single “Strawberry Milk”. Along with the release of her solo debut, many more practice videos behind the scenes of the making of the music video and vlogs were released.
The official music video is not available currently on YouTube, but it has been posted by YOU Entertainment. The music video for “Strawberry Milk” features a bubbly Yerin, who is falling in “sweet love,” dancing and playing around in a playground. The song and the music video generate very bouncy and bubbly energy, suiting Yerin.
After her solo debut, Yerin immediately went on to start working on her second single, “Secret Diary.” Behind the scenes of “Secret Diary” and the videos of Yerin dancing and making reels were released at the beginning of 2023.
From the behind the scenes videos and posts, we can get a hint of what the song is going to be like. It is filmed in a classroom setting, just like the other songs of the group. Besides these tiny hints, there is no other information about the song. There is no official release of the song yet, either. Fans are looking forward to seeing what Yerin has come up with in this comeback of hers.

Park Sujin
Park Sujin, professionally known as Sujin, was the rapper and dancer of the group. She started her career along with the group in 2019. She was part of the group for around a year and performed in Korea and overseas as a member of 4CARAT. But she left the group in the time frame of June-August of 2019. The reasons for her withdrawal from the group are unknown.

As a group, 4CARAT has released two digital albums since their debut, namely “Nanly” and “Be Breathless.” Both albums consisted of two tracks packed with energy and fast-paced beats. This sets the tone for 4CARAT as an energetic hip-hop kids group with great dance moves.
Manly
“Nanly”, the debut album of 4CARAT, was released on the 11th of March 2019. It was a digital release that consisted of two tracks. With being the title track, “Nanly,” was also the lead single of their debut album. The second track of the album was the instrumental version of their title track. This album is by far their most popular album, with the lead single having more than 85K views.
Be Breathless
After a break of one year, 4CARAT released their second digital album, “Be Breathless,” which was released on the 28th of March 2020. Even though this is their second album as a group, this is their first album after their member, Park Sujin, left the group. With one less rapper and dancer, 4CARAT released their second album.
The album cover shows the three members in white outfits on a solid pink background. “Be Breathless” also consisted of two tracks. The lead single took the name of the album and was called “Be Breathless”. The second track of the album was the instrumental version of the lead single. The comeback was first announced on the 15th of March,2020, a year after their debut.
The teaser for “Be Breathless” was released on the 25th of March, 2020, giving the fans little sneak peeks of what to expect in their upcoming comeback. The album itself was released on the 28th of March,2020.
Apart from their works as a group, the group’s dancer and vocalist Ha Yerin has released one solo album, “Strawberry Milk,” and has also hinted about her second solo album, “Secret Diary.”

In between the comebacks, their member Park Sujin left the group. Other Activities
As is evident through their Instagram posts, the members are always spending time together. They spend their time not only recording music but also learning new choreography and recording new content. They have posted many practice videos, dance covers, and free-styling videos to many popular songs of different K-pop groups like BTS‘s Boy with Luv, NCT U Boss, and more.
Around the time of their debut, they posted many practice videos, performance videos, and behind the scenes of performances. They have also posted many pre-debut videos as well.
They also attended an interview with overseas fans in the Amino app. Their songs were well-received by fans everywhere. Their reach with international fans also led them to perform overseas as well. Their overseas performances include Tokyo, Cinderella International Scholarship Pageant, and more.
Ahead of their overseas performance, they posted a travel vlog of the girls on a flight to Japan and also on their first day in Tokyo. They have also done many performances at Kpop dance festivals too. They also performed for SBS, which was all set to air on the 24th of May 2020. Unfortunately, their special broadcast was edited out due to the spread of COVID-19.
Yerin, after her solo debut, also posted a lot of vlogs behind the scenes of her songs and more. She usually vlogs about herself shopping or spending time with her brother. She also vlogs about buying outfits for her music video and also posts promotional content for her solos.
The group is also part of DBos Dance. DBos Dance is run by Choi Seung-min, a member of the Young Turks Club. Young Turks Club is a K-pop boy group that debuted in the year of 1996. Dbos Dance also consists of many other kid artists. Seung-min is also the general producer and choreography director of 4CARAT, along with other kids’ K-pop groups.
The girls also spend a lot of time with their choreographer Seung-min learning new dance routines etc. Seung-min also plays a huge role in the group and helps them with their schedules not only as a producer but as their mentor too. Even in the group’s first announcement, the girls are mentioned as the disciples of Seung-min.
On the official YouTube channel of Dbos Dance, we can see dance practice videos of 4CARAT and more. Ha, Yerin also took part in Choi Seungmin’s planned project, where Yerin, along with other dancers from Dbos Dance, covered Young Turks Clubs’ choreography for their songs.

Right now, the group is not as active as it used to be in its debut years. But they are still an active group as there is any news regarding their disbandment, and some new content may be expected. The most active member with the most recent content is Ha Yerin, with her single “Strawberry Milk.” 4CARAT is a talented group who are still very young.
Even at this such young age, the girls have an amazing stage presence, and it’s clear that they love to perform. The group never had proper training as an idol, yet their performances are very promising. There is a high chance they will come back with more power-packed and energetic songs in the future.
