Gladiator is a massive hit released on September 1, 2000. It succeeded in winning 5 Oscars and various other awards. It is a masterpiece directed by Ridley Scott, starring Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Oliver Reed, and various other well-known actors.

Maximus Decimus Meridius is loyal to Emperor Marcus Aurelius. The emperor decides to put Maximus on the throne as his son Commodus isn’t suitable. Commodus takes over the throne by killing his father. He finds his wife and child murdered as he refuses to serve Commodus. He is then sold as a slave to Proximo, who trains gladiators. He fights in disguise as a gladiator to overturn Commodus’s rule.
