“Sang-doo! Let’s Go to School!” is a 2003 South Korean series starring Rain, Gong Hyo-jin, Lee Dong-gun, Hong Soo-hyun, and Song Min-joo. Cha Sang-doo (Rain) and Chae Eun-hwan (Gong Hyo-jin) were childhood best friends with secret crushes on each other.

Cha Sang-doo (Rain) and Chae Eun-hwan (Gong Hyo-jin) were childhood friends who secretly loved each other. When Eun-hwan’s family goes bankrupt, debt collectors seize their belongings. In an attempt to recover Eun-hwan’s father’s record player, Sang-doo gets into a struggle, accidentally injuring a man and ending up in prison.

After his release, Sang-doo discovers his family has disowned him, and Eun-hwan has disappeared. Years later, Sang-doo has a daughter, Cha Bo-ri (Song Min-joo), from a one-night stand with Han Se-ra (Hong Soo-hyun). Bo-ri is diagnosed with leukemia, and to pay her hospital bills, Sang-doo becomes a gigolo.

Sang-doo eventually reunites with Eun-hwan, now a high school math teacher. Determined to win her back, he becomes a student in her class. However, Eun-hwan is engaged to Kang Min-suk (Lee Dong-gun), Bo-ri’s doctor. Despite initially being rivals, Min-suk and Sang-doo become friends.

As Sang-doo and Eun-hwan try to rekindle their relationship, various obstacles keep them apart, complicating their chances of being together.

2. Full House (2004)

“Full House” is a 2004 South Korean series starring Song Hye-kyo, Rain, Han Eun-Jung, and Kim Sung-soo. Based on the manhwa “Full House” by Won Soo-yeon, the story follows Han Ji-eun (Song Hye-Kyo), an aspiring writer living in a house called “Full House,” built by her late father.

Her two best friends trick her into believing she won a free vacation. While she is away, they sell her house. On the plane, she meets a famous actor, Lee Young-jae (Rain).

Through comedic events, they become acquainted during her vacation. When she returns, she discovers that her house has been sold to Young Jae. Despite their contrasting habits, they agree to live together.

Initially, Ji-eun works as his maid to buy her house back. Later, they enter into a contract marriage to make Young-jae’s crush, Kang Hye-won (Han Eun-jung), jealous. Complications arise as Ji-eun and Young-jae start developing feelings for each other.

Their journey is filled with humour, misunderstandings, and growing affection, making “Full House” a beloved classic in Korean drama.

3. A Love to Kill (2005)

“A Love to Kill” features Rain as Kang Bok-gu and Shin Min-a as Cha Eun-suk. Bok-gu is a tough K-1 fighter with a dynamic personality who grew up in a foster home. He falls for a woman he shouldn’t, leading to a tragic love story.

The woman in question is Cha Eun-suk, a TV talent and movie actress. Although she didn’t intentionally hurt Bok-gu’s brother, a misunderstanding fuels Bok-gu’s deep hatred toward her. His brother’s fall from a rooftop, which left him in a nursing case, is the catalyst for Bok-gu’s forbidden love.

To exact his revenge, Bok-gu becomes Eun-suk’s private bodyguard. His goal is to bring Eun-suk to her knees, driven by the desire to avenge his brother. As he enacts his plan, Bok-gu finds his feelings for Eun-suk growing deeper.

Bok-gu is a cold character, indifferent to women’s concerns. His martial arts career began as an escape from the trauma of losing a beloved woman from a distance. His internal struggle between love and revenge forms the core of this intense drama.

4. The Fugitive: Plan B (2010)

“The Fugitive: Plan B” is a 2010 South Korean action series starring Rain and Lee Na-young. It aired on KBS2 from September 29 to December 8, 2010, for 20 episodes.

Directed by Kwak Jung-hwan and written by Cheon Sung-il, the series was sold to seven countries in Asia. The plot revolves around a vast amount of money that disappeared during the Korean War and reappeared 60 years later, sparking a global chase.

“Diamond Lover” (Chinese: 克拉恋人; pinyin: Kèlā liànrén) is a 2015 Chinese TV series starring Rain, Tiffany Tang, Luo Jin, and Dilraba Dilmurat. It premiered on Zhejiang Television and Anhui Television on July 22, 2015, and became a commercial success in China, reaching a peak rating of 1.249 and garnering over 3.3 billion online views.

Mi Mei Li, who suffers from low self-esteem due to her obesity, meets Xiao Liang, CEO of a diamond company, and falls in love with him. Unable to confess her feelings, her fate changes after a car accident and cosmetic surgery transform her into a slim beauty. She changes her name to Mi Duo to hide her past identity.

7. Come Back Mister (2016)

Come Back Mister is a 2016 South Korean television series starring Rain, Oh Yeon-Seo, Kim In-Kwon, Kim Soo-Ro, Lee Min-jung, Lee Hanee, Choi Won-young, and Yoon Park. It is based on the 2002 Japanese novel Mr. Tsubakiyama’s Seven Days by Jirō Asada. The show aired on SBS from February 24 to April 14, 2016, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 for 16 episodes.

Kim Young-soo (Kim In-Kwon) is a section chief in the women’s apparel section at Sunjin’s department store. Due to his long work hours, he is estranged from his wife, Shin Da-hye (Lee Min-jung). One night, while working overtime, he accidentally falls from a roof and dies. The company covers up his death as a suicide to avoid blame for overworking him.

Han Gi-tak (Kim Soo-ro), a former gangster who runs a restaurant, has loved actress Song Yi-yeon (Lee Ha-nui) for years. Her ex-husband, Cha Jae-gook (Choi Won-young), threatens to take their child away by fabricating a scandal. As Gi-tak uncovers this, he dies in a car accident at the same time as Young-soo.

In the afterlife, both men feel the need to return: Young-soo to clear his name and reconcile with his wife, and Gi-take to protect Yi-yeon. They are given two months and return in new bodies: Young-soo as the handsome Lee Hae-Joon (Rain) and Gi-task as the beautiful Han Hong-nan (Oh Yeon-Seo). They must follow three rules: they cannot their true identities, revenge is forbidden, and they cannot engage in human affairs. Breaking these rules will erase their existence.

The series follows the unexpected merging of Young-min’s spirit into Seung-tak’s body following a strange incident, leading to a complex interplay of skills, personalities, and medical challenges as they face their shared existence.
