The CW’s Nancy Drew came to a conclusion yesterday, with episode 13 of the fourth season being the last of the show.
Now that The CW is going through a process of reorganization after the WarnerMedia acquisition, the network will explore other things, mostly reality shows, but in any case, we are here to take a look at how this fantasy modern show leaves the audience.
For some, it’s bittersweet; for others, it’s a series finale that came close to being perfect, but in any case, all good things must come to an end.
I will share with you my appreciation of this show’s conclusion, along with a recap that contains spoilers for context. So, if you’re a Nancy Drew fan and haven’t watched it, firstly, go and watch it because it is worth your time.
Nancy Drew Season 4 Episode 13 Recap
The episode that brings the final closure to the series was fast-paced, but that doesn’t mean it was bad.
We begin with Nancy Drew trying to deal with the fallout of the destruction we were left with in the past episode; thanks to Tristan’s help, they harness his soul into a weird turbo mode and employ it as a guiding light and protective shield to cure the entire city.
The thing is that they failed, they failed miserably, sending Nancy Drew into a sort of catatonic convulsive state that culminates with her being unconscious. After she wakes up, she says she sees visions.
They almost died, but that attempt showed us that Nancy’s soul had no connection to Lucia Knipp but rather to August.
Nancy gets upset about finding all the bad stuff that her previous soul did, but Ace comes to help her out of that panic. Now, after a lengthy chat, came the moment to untangle Nancy and Tristan, only to see that it was Ace who was ending up with the girl.
Horseshoe Bay is on fire; there’s a bunch of people in witchhunt mode, and they took it upon the Historical Society and burned the place. Bess was inside, and Nancy and Ace were also there and found their way out.
When everything was turned to ashes, and the storm passed, the team parted ways: Each one on their particular journey.

Nancy Drew Season 4 Episode 13 Ending Explained
After four seasons, Nancy Drew came to a bittersweet ending; the team that formed and faced all sorts of challenges, demons, and giant spiders each goes their own way.
As the show reaches its final scenes, we see how Ace went to college and is now going to study at the university to become a doctor; we see George studying at a law school, Bess becomes a world traveler, and Ned is working in Atlanta.
As for Nancy, she now can have a heartwarming and smiling conclusion; there’s no death curse, threat, or supernatural being hanging over her head like the sword of Damocles.
She and Ace have a final hug; they leave to do their own thing, not without placing one last artifact at the Claw before they leave. Nancy locks up the place. As she turns off the lights and closes the door, their initials are shown, and Nancy Drew, as The CW show, comes to a close.
Nancy Drew Season 4 Episode 13 Review
After four fun seasons full of angels, demons, spiders, spells, and paranormal activity, The CW pulled the plug on this modern adaptation of a children’s classic. The acting was good, and for the fans, it is always sad to see a cherished series go.
You have to give it to the cast and crew for delivering good performances, amazing visual effects, and that contemporary freshness that networks like The CW know how to deliver.
There’ll be plenty of time to rewatch the series and even make it a cult-like thing if that’s where the fans want to take it, but in any case, the show is done, and so is our coverage.
