After the filming of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope and during the early acting career of Mark Hamill, it was unexpected that he would have such a downfall in his career. However, after the accident, he managed to thrive in the Hollywood industry, and even at the age of 71, he has been receiving worldwide fame.
On 11th January 1977, Mark Hamill was traveling to Malibu, California, in his BMW. While on his way home, his car got crashed into another car when that car accidentally crossed into his lane. After the head-on collision, Mark suffered severe injuries, especially in his head, face, and neck. All of his injuries were so severe that he had to receive several surgeries, which somewhat changed his appearance.
When asked, Mark Hamill expressed how much he was traumatized and concerned about his acting career when he got to know about the accident when he woke up the other day after the accident. He said that he woke up in the hospital and realized that he had hurt himself very badly.
