In The People’s Court, Former Florida prosecuting attorney and judge Marilyn Milian makes the decision in actual small-claims court cases. A website is used to poll viewers about the cases and conduct interviews with participants and observers. The majority of the show’s legal-themed successors have imitated the system. The People’s Court is also the first widely watched, ongoing reality in the legal field. Only a few short-lived realities of the genre came before it.
The People’s Court Season 26 Episode 9 Recap
Before diving into The People’s Court Season 26 Episode 10, let’s quickly recap the previous episode. We witnessed a renting problem in “Rental Riot.” We can assume from the title that there will be a bitter argument or conflict over the apartment rent. However, based on the episodes we have, it appears to be an entertaining yet humorous situation.
Before the judge, we see a woman and a teenager. When the judge inquires whether “people weren’t getting along,” the woman responds, “It was sort of touch and go.” The judge was delighted to hear all the details of the case after hearing this, and everyone started to laugh.
In the other case, the plaintiff says she agreed to rent an apartment from the defendant who promised it would be ready in 2 weeks. She believed that promise and paid a deposit. As time got closer to moving in she realized the place was not going to be ready. It had smoke damage from prior tenants and quite frankly looked like a drug hangout. She wasn’t about to expose her children to that. She told the defendant she wanted her deposit back just 24 hours after giving it to her and she refused to return it. So she’s suing for 1300 dollars.
Then we had the defendant Brenda, she says she’s been managing buildings and apartments for 20 years. She has a four-man crew and when she promises a place will be ready on time for move-in day, it’s ready. This woman simply got cold feet, deposits are non-refundable and she’s sorry but she’s not returning any money. She is accused of making a tenant mad.
Basically, in this case on the docket, the plaintiff says that she was going to move into the defendant’s apartment and it was supposed to be ready in two weeks from the time she signed the lease, it wasn’t ready she went out. But the defendant says she’s been doing this for years and when she says it’s ready, it’s ready. It’s the case of ready or not here I come. Now we will discuss when will Episode 10 of The People’s Court Season 26 will release and what will happen in it.
