Big Brother is an American reality television show. It is a competition show. The premise of the show is that the contestants, or as the tv show refers to them ‘HouseGuests’ are thrown together. They all live together in a house specially made for them, that is isolated from the outside world. They all compete for the cash prize of $750,000.
Throughout the entire show and competition, the HouseGuests are watched and monitored 24/7 by live cameras and personal microphones. The HouseGuests are either voted out or evicted from the competition and house. Season 24 of Big Brother aired and premiered on 6 July 2022, and it was announced that the show was renewed for season 25 in September 2022.
In Season 24 of Big Brother, Taylor Hale came out to the top, winning the show and $750,000. But it was a close call and intense vote. Taylor won in an 8-1 vote against Monte Taylor, who was the runner-up. But Taylor didn’t expect to win. She has not had an easy journey in the Big Brother house and fought for her place and title. She has been treated unfairly many times during the competition and has been left out of discussions and groups. Many viewers also expressed concern for her and were upset to see Taylor being treated unfairly in the show for no reason.
Was Taylor Bullied During The Show?
A few episodes before the finale, one of the contestants, Daniel Durston told Taylor to not speak to him until the finale night of the show. Before that, another contestant, Nicole, was worried and anxious about being evicted. When Taylor went to check up on her, she comforted Nicole telling her that if she quit, it would be understandable since Nicole was going through a rough patch and hard time.
Taylor knew that Nicole’s mother had cancer, so she would understand if Nicole needed to quit the show. But later, when Nicole was conversing the Daniel and a few others, she twisted Taylor’s words and made it seem like Taylor was telling and pressuring Nicole to quit the show. This incident left many viewers angry at Nicole and at their behavior towards Nicole, who did nothing wrong. The entire season Taylor was the underdog during the entire competition.
How Did Taylor Hale Win?
Before the finale, there was a Head of Household competition between Taylor and Monte. But Taylor lost both round 1 and round 2 of the games. Her fate was left up to the Big Brother Jury. So how and why did Taylor win?
It was Talyor Hale’s perseverance that led her to victory. It was all the hardships she faced but overcame throughout the competition. And her final speech to the Big Brother Jury also helped her win brownie points, eventually leading her to win the show. “Perseverance and resiliency is the only way to win this game”, Taylor told in her speech to the jury. Taylor was faced with being evicted the most number of times during the show, but she still held on and made it to the top, rising to victory.
Apart from winning the show, she also won the title of America’s Favourite player (AFP). This added $50,000 to her grand prize of $750,000. This whopping grand cash prize of $800,000 made her the highest-paid Big Brother winner of all time. She was also the first black woman to win Big Brother. Taylor Hale made history twice by winning the show, by being the highest-paid winner, and by being the first black woman to win the competition!
Taylor says that she watched the previous season of Big Brother and loved Daniella Reyes, another black woman. She says Daniella played an amazing game and was shocked she didn’t win at the end.
After witnessing that, she said to herself that she wanted to be the first black woman to win Big Brother and that she was going to do everything in her power to make it happen and that nothing would stop her from talking about it. Taylor Hale is also a former pageant queen, winning the title of Miss Michigan. Currently, Taylor works as a personal stylist. She is 27 years old and currently lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
