Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves – Plot Summary
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves opens up with Bard Edgin telling his story about how he ended up being a thief while he was a peacekeeper as a member of Harpers. One day, when the disciples of Red Wizards attacked his house and kidnapped and killed his wife to resurrect her, he found no option but to be a thief for the sake of his daughter Kira and himself.
Edgin, who started making money by stealing other people’s precious things, soon gets approached by the barbarian Holga Kilgore, who gives him food and a place to live. Additionally, she decides to take care of Kira, and the three of them then start the journey toward stealing the Tablet of Reawakening, which would help Edgin to resurrect his wife. While on the journey, Edgin and Holga meet Simon, Forge, and Sofina, who, with their immense magical powers, help Edgin and Holga to reach the place and steal the Tablet of Reawakening.
Even though they finally get the Tablet, Holga and Edgin get arrested for stealing, and the rest of the group manages to escape. Two years after the incident, we see Holga and Edgin incarcerated in Revel’s End Arctic Prison, trying to persuade the jury about their circumstances and how they would make things right if they were released.
As a consequence of getting no positive response, Edgin and Holga escape the prison and soon make their way toward Neverwinter. Surprisingly, Edgin and Holga find Forge as a lord of Neverwinter in place of the incapacitated previous lord, while Sofina is revealed to be the Red Wizard. Additionally, Sofina and Forge take care of Edigin’s daughter Kira, but they turn her against her father.
When Forge asks Edgin how they got released from the jail, he tells Forge and Sofina that he got released because of his and Holga’s good behavior; however, Forge soon gets to know that they have escaped, and that is why he forcefully sends both of them again to the prison. Edgin gets traumatized over his daughter living with the wrong people, and that is why they again escape from the prison and start their quest to save Kira.
Edgin and Holga’s Journey Toward Saving Kira
Kira gets severely turned against her father, Edgin, and Holga, so Edgin has no way to find the Tablet of Reawakening to resurrect Kira’s mother to prove the reason why he decided to steal the Tablet and bring her back. But to execute the plan, they need the team to fight with Forge and Sofina and bring Kira back. So, they soon find Simon, who suggests they add Doric to the team because of the special powers that she possesses.

With the help of Doric, Edgin gets to know that they have to disable Forge’s vault, which has been locked with the magical powers, which Forge decides to steal and escape Neverwinter in the future. However, disabling it is not an easy task, and they will need “The Helm of Disjunction” which would nullify the powers and disable it. Finally, after connecting the dots, Holga proposes the idea that her ancestors know where the relic is, and Edgin resurrects them for some time with the help of Talisman and finds out the location where the helm is.
Holga’s ancestors let Edgin, Doric, Simon, and Holga know that Paladin Xenk Yandar knows where the relic is, but he fled the country because of the unforeseen attack of the red wizards. Edgin’s group decides to track down Xenk, who turns out to be a wise man and agrees to help Edgin; however, on the one condition that Edgin must distribute the bounty, if gained, to the people.
Edgin agrees, and Xenk takes the team to the place where the Relic is. While making their way, they come across many difficulties, but they conquer with the help of Xenk and find the Helm. But before leaving, they come across assassins hired by Sofina and the awakened dragon who would kill everyone if not fought with the utmost skills. Xenk fights everyone and helps escape Edgin, Holga, Simon, and Doric.
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves – Ending Explained
The one who can take advantage of Helm’s powers is Simon, so the whole team relies on Simon and think that he will harness the powers and disable the vault. However, when Simon tries to harness the powers, he finds himself less powerful to do it. So, Edgin decides to get to the vault to disable it.
When the team finally reaches the castle, they divide into groups to trick the soldiers, but soldiers recognize them when the team’s powers fall short. Simon again wears the Helm because he wants to prove that he is strong enough to use the powers of it, and when he does, with the help of the Helm, Simon fights all the soldiers.
Edgin, Holga, and Simon get into the room where the vault is situated, and they find that the vault is not there. On the other hand, Doric gets to know that Forge is escaping with the vault. The whole team gets approached by Kira, but they later find out that she is Sofina, who wants Edgin, Holga, Simon, and Doric to participate in the game that was banned long ago because of the threat it poses to people’s lives.
Forge reintroduces the game claiming that it will bring more money and fame to Neverwinter. In the game, the dragons and the monsters start attacking the team, but fortunately, they manage to escape the game. After getting out of the castle, the team must stop Forge to stop him from running away with the treasure full of the vault. Forge starts threatening their life of Kira, and that is when she understands that what Forge said was all lies and only her father is a nice man.
Edgin finally saves Kira and escapes with the boat and vault, which was arranged by Forge to escape. While on their way, the team discovers an evil plan made by Sofina that would turn the audience of the game into an undead army. Edgin decides to save those people, and for that, he and his team return to the castle. In the meantime, Simon spreads the treasure across the stadium and the city using a hot air balloon.
Seeing this, Sofina gets enraged because the balloons distract the audience, and Sofina’s magic begins to fall short. In the last battle, Sofina, with the help of her dragons, fights all, including Edgin, Holga, Doric, and Simon. However, Doric turns into a beast to fight Sofina. With the help of Simon’s powers, Kira’s intelligence, and Edgin’s attack, Sofina finally dies.
During the fight, Even Holga gets severely injured. Even though Edgin tries hard to save her, she counts her last breaths and dies. In the end, instead of using the Tablet of Reawakening on his wife, Edgin uses it to save Holga, and all of them then happily live in Neverwinter.
