A Small Light Episodes 1 and 2 release date is what fans are curious about right now. This is an upcoming drama series that has been commissioned by National Geographic for their channel. The entire premise of this series will throw light on the biography of Anne Frank as well as the life she led. We will see the entire story of how Miep Gies was the biggest help during World War II to the Frank family. They were employers before the war but needed a lot of help during the same. Thus, she hid the entire family in her basement.
A cast has been confirmed for the series. Bel Powley will reprise the role of Miep Gies. Liev Schreiber will enact the character of Otto Frank. Joe Cole does the part of Jan Gies. Amira Casar will reprise the role of Edith Frank. Billie Boullet enacts the character of Anne Frank. Ashley Brooke will do the part of Margot Frank. Daniel Donskoy will reprise the role of Karl Josef Silberbauer.
The series was announced for the first time back in 2022. It was when Disney Plus had confirmed making a show with National Geographic. Filming for the same began in the summer of the same year. The crew went over to Hradec Králové in Prague as well as some parts of Amsterdam were also seen during the production.
Miep was actually very instrumental in order to preserve the diaries of Anne after the entire family was arrested in 1944. She was quick to smuggle the entire diaries outside of the building. It could have become a source of the Dutch resistance and a piece of evidence for the helpers.

There was an additional person named Bep Voskujil, who was 23 years of age, and was the youngest in the group of people who helped the Frank family at the time. There are various claims that the creators have not mentioned Bep at all. Some think that Bep and Miep have been merged, but if so, then the series will have historical inaccuracy.
Miep was able to hide the Frank family for almost two years from the Nazis. She was a Dutch citizen and a brave person. Although this time, we will not see much focus on Anne but rather on Miep. It is a coming-of-age story where her relations will be explored and how she married in the first place.
Fast forward to the later episodes, we will see how Miep housed the Franks, as well as their other Jew friends, in her basement. She was the only one who would buy food and supplies for the entire group and make sure they were living comfortably. Miep’s husband named, Jan Gies, would take part in the Dutch resistance spirit and used to help the Jewish children smuggle out of Amsterdam. Filming has taken place in the locations such as Prague as well as Amsterdam.
