What Did Fredo Do To Michael In The Godfather Part II? The Brother Got Betrayed
As already mentioned about the betrayal, many of you must be wondering what exactly Fredo did do to his brother, Michael. Well, the former worked with Hyman Roth. In case you forgot, it was the rival gangster of the Corleone family. Fredo was approached to work with them by one of his agents, Johnny Ola. It always felt like he used to give them more information, which was not required at certain times.
At the beginning of the film, there is a murder attempt against Michael. Some wondered if Fredo was the one behind it, giving information to Johnny Ola. If so, what did he tell him? It was very much evident that Michael was kind of an obstacle for him, especially when it came to their family business. So, people anyway suspected him to be behind it.
But, what did Fredo do exactly? He opened the curtains of Michael’s bedroom as if he was stupid enough to understand the real deal. Fredo laid out the location of Michael’s bedroom. Despite a murder attempt taking place, Fredo didn’t change. He continued working with the rival gang, Hyman Roth. At that time, he aimed to send Michael to prison. Also, he was well aware of the fact that Senate lawyer Questadt was hired to serve against his brother. But he didn’t inform the same to Michael. Why did Fredo betray Michael, going against him? The ultimate target was to take over the mafia empire, becoming the next Don right after their father.
Well, there was always that internal rivalry between the brothers, Fredo and Michael. What for? Only to take over the family business. From Fredo’s side, there was a feeling of jealousy which many of the fans could relate to.
