Yellowstone‘s prequel series, 1923, aired by Paramount+, will soon release a new episode this week. Revolving around the Duttons that existed during the Great Depression, this show offers insight into how the Dutton family had managed to make a name for themselves within the Western lands. The show is a Paramount+ original and was first seen on December 18th, 2022.
Coming to the timeline of all the related series, the first in line would be the post-Civil war era show 1883, with 1923 next, and finally, the rest of the related shows, such as Yellowstone. Rumors of 1923 being in production go back to February of 2022, although the title was a different year, 1932. It was later changed to its current name, with Tyler Sheridan admitting that it was the costliest production he worked on.
This is because 1923, much like its related shows, offers a realistic setting for all of its scenes. From horses to villages and cattle, the show was made to match the era with perfection. Accompanied by great acting from the infamous Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, 1923 has managed to become one of the best Contemporary Western shows of its time.
A second season was ordered to start production in February 2023. Cast of 1923 includes Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, who play the characters of Jacob Dutton & his wife, Cara Dutton. Their son, who goes to South Africa on an expedition, Spencer Dutton, is portrayed by Brandon Sklenar.
Julia Schlaepfer plays the role of Alexandra, and Darren Mann plays Jack Dutton. The man who fatally injures Jacob, Banner Creighton, is portrayed by Jerome Flynn. Teonna Rainwater, The native American woman seen in the last few episodes, is played by Aminah Nieves.
1923 Episode 6: Recap
In the previous episode of 1923, we see Teonna and Hank talking about her taking up the identity of the man to escape from the marshals. He gives her his son’s clothes, and she prepares to live with him.
They decide to dispose of all her previous items to prevent anyone from coming after her. Meanwhile, at the Dutton’s, half of their cattle is taken away when their enemies plot against them. Though they aren’t able to do anything, they decide to come up with some sort of plan.
Jacob is now well enough to start walking again, but he still needs the support of a stick. Cara sees the limestone agents and is worried that they were only able to get two, as Jacob had wanted around 20 men. Cara and Jacob meet up and see that a new road is being made on the mountain. He understands the reason behind the countless deaths that were caused.
The main goal of the killers was to establish a mine above Yellowstone, as it was rich in all kinds of minerals. This would threaten whatever water the Duttons and the other families would get. Cara informs Jacob that she informed the sheriff about what happened, which causes him to be frustrated. She lets him know that she did it for the good of the family.
If Creighton was killed by Jacob, the only powerful man of the Dutton family would either be killed or put in jail. He later apologizes to Cara and tells her she saved his life. Spencer is still in the middle of the ocean along with Alex. They almost drown but somehow manage to stay afloat until any help arrives.
Fortunately, at night a ship named S.S Lambridge arrives, and they get on board after trying to get its attention. They speak to the ship’s captain, and Spencer wants the captain to allow them to get married on the ship. They give each other lost rings from past Sailors, but none of them fit Alex’s fingers. The captain pulls out a ring belonging to his wife and gives it to them.
