Jon Favreau’s infamous show, The Mandalorian, is all set to release a new episode this week. With Din being stubborn to redeem himself by finding the mines, he sets out to the desolate land of Mandalore. To his surprise, the planet is still filled with all kinds of dangers that he must first pass to get to the Waters.
First seen on television on November 12th, 2019, the show revolves around the Mandalorian, Din Djarin as he travels through the galaxies completing all kinds of missions given to him. The third season focuses on his task to get back the respect and honor of his people by getting ahold of the mines. As a rule of his people, Mandalorians aren’t allowed to take off their helmets in front of anyone else.
After removing his helmet for Grogu, The Mandalorian Din Djarin, portrayed by Pedro Pascal, was banished from his people as he didn’t live up to the rules of the Creed. This series is produced by Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson, who have worked on other series of the Star Wars franchise as well. The third installment of The Mandalorian has been airing since March 1st, 2023, and will be having about 8 episodes that will complete airing by mid-April.
What Happened in The Mandalorian S3 Episode 2?
In the previous episodes, the Mandalorian heads over to Mandalore to see if the mines of the place still exist. Despite warnings from Bo-Katan, Mandalorian is convinced to check the planet out for himself. At Peli Motto’s, she tries to rip off a Rodian. Soon the Mandalorian arrives and Peli’s excited to see Grogu. He later explains that he needs a droid part to help him check the atmosphere of the planet he’s heading to.
After being short of memory circuits, the Mandalorian’s droid cannot be fixed and Peli offers him the droid she bought from the Jawas. Although it’s an astromech, the Mandalorian is forced to take it with him. They reach the planet and the Mandalorian explains the history of the planet to Grogu. The ship heads into the atmosphere and faces turbulence due to the storm. Once they pass through it, they are greeted with the site of a calm and desolate planet. Since the magnetic field was disrupted, once they land on the planet they won’t be able to communicate outside it.
The droid is scared to check for the samples but the Mandalorian forces him to make sure its safe for them to land on the planet. Seeing the signal between him and R5 being interrupted, he goes out to check for himself and leaves Grogu on the ship. Once he goes inside the mines, he’s attacked by strong creatures called Alamites. After fighting them off, the Mandalorian sees R5 buried in the mess.
After checking the samples, he notices that the air is breathable and not cursed, just like Bo-Katan had predicted. After entering the mines once again, the Mandalorian and Grogu head into the civic center. They explore the place further and see a passage leading toward the mines below. The Mandalorian notices a sign on the wall, and just as he gets closer to inspect it, he gets trapped in the mouth of a robotic creature.
When he gains consciousness, the Mandalorian sees himself lying in an enclosure. A new robot emerges from the spider robot and leaves the place, which gives Grogu the chance to free the Mandalorian. Just as the lock breaks, the robot is alerted, to which the Mandalorian explains that they might need Bo-Katan’s help. Both Grogu and R5 head over to call for help. After seeing just Grogu on the ship, Bo-Katan immediately takes off for Mandalore.
Bo-Katan enters the area where the Mandalorian was held captive and has an intense fight with the robot. She asks Din if he’s okay and is attacked by the spider robot. Bo-Katan is successful in rescuing him and they sit at the top of the mines looking back at the past of the tomb which was once a great civilization. The Mandalorian wants to go back to search for the mines and Bo-Katan agrees to help him find the waters.
