Amazon Prime Video’s latest sports drama is called Fifteen Love, developed by Hania Elkington; it tells the story of fictional tennis star Justine Peacer getting the ups and downs and tensions from being on and off the clay, hard and grass courts of competitive tennis after ending her career with an abrupt halt.
If you’ve seen romantic comedies like Wimbledon, and are a fan of Tennis, then you should check this one out. And today, we’re putting the magnifying glass on where was this Tennis-centered series filmed. Was it on location, or was it all the product of Hollywood magic?
Fifteen Love Filming Locations
Fifteen Love would make you think that the bulk of the series was shot on the tennis courts, but that’s just Hollywood magic. Not a single tennis play scene was filmed on a tennis court. The actresses received a little bit of coaching here and there from some tennis consultants at the Lawn Tennis Association, mainly Naomi Cavaday, but that’s just about it.
And believe us when we tell you that Fifteen Love was filmed in the United Kingdom for some exterior shots and in the United States for the rest of the entire series. This makes your jaw drop because of the way it is depicted in the sports-centered series.
Now, let us unpack a bit some of these filming locations that paved the way for the magic we see in the Prime Video series, shall we?
Amazon Studios, Santa Monica
Amazon Studios, located in Santa Monica and in Culver City, is an entertainment powerhouse; this facility specializes in developing all sorts of productions like films and television series for streaming giant Prime Video, part of the Amazon corporation.
Furthermore, Amazon Studios is among the first of its kind, managing to be recognized by the industry with a Golden Globe and winning nominations for the productions they make there for the Oscars.
Many of the interior shots, the tennis courts, and the bulk of what we see in Fifteen Love are made in Amazon Studios, and thanks to its versatility, professionalism, and adaptability, we see how it was possible for them not only to bring to life a production like Fifteen Love but many others like “The Stolen Child” and even demanding directors like Spike Lee have taken an interest in working with this facility’s cutting edge equipment.

St Albans, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
St Albans is a city built around a beautiful cathedral in the United Kingdom; it’s located around 32 Km north of London and is known for its history. The city’s name comes from the first of the British Saint’s Alban, who lived in the 4th Century when Christianism was banned; he was chased and martyred.
During Roman times, St. Albans was a major commercial center; when the Anglos took over, they started to develop the city around the hills; during medieval times, the city grew even more, and in modern times, it remains a lovely town, full of historical places, with well-paved streets and is a pilgrimage site for many Christians.
Many outdoor scenes for Fifteen Love were shot here, giving you a look and feel that the place was actually France, with its chic and posh exteriors, when in fact, it couldn’t get any more British. This is one of the beautiful things about movie magic.
For production the size of Fifteen Love, shooting in France might’ve resulted in tremendously expensive costs, and considering the scope of the project, it would’ve become impossible to bring it to fruition.
So, with the help of Amazon Studios, and with some exterior shots in a town to the north of London, the magic of editing and cinematography make it possible for viewers to enjoy this exciting tennis drama that will make you laugh, cry and wonder just how did they do it without ever stepping foot on a tennis court.
