His life entirely changed when he was recruited into the SWAT team of the L.A.P.D.
Hondo is an African American man from Los Angeles. He feels a deep sense of responsibility for all police officers and the people they serve. As a result, Hondo is the best person to lead their team and act as a bridge between the two communities.

The show does an excellent job of highlighting the disparities in society caused by racial injustice. These experiences are based on reality and give us an understanding of what life is really like in the more wealthy areas of the world.
The Plot Of S.W.A.T.:
“S.W.A.T.” is a new drama series and feature film inspired by the television program of the same name, which starred Shemar Moore as a former Marine who leads a tactical unit based in Los Angeles that is the last resolve for law enforcement. Daniel Harrelson (“Hondo”) is caught between his loyalty to where he’s from and his devotion to the police force, yet somehow finds a way to revel in new responsibilities as the legal guardian of a teenager.
Hondo’s elite Hondo law enforcement team, including David “Deacon” Kay, a committed and experienced S.W.A.T. officer who always puts his team first; Chris Alonso is a great officer and trainer of canines in the unit. With experience driving in multiple high-pressure situations, Dominique Luca is an expert behind the wheel. Victor Tan, an experienced veteran of the L.A.P.D. Hollywood Division uses his confidential informants from the community to assist the team, and Jim Street was so full of himself that he got fired from S.W.A.T. but was later re-instated after he realized the error of his ways.
