Here we have brought the list of the Blue Dragon Series Awards 2022 winners! The award ceremony was organized by Sports Chosun and was held on 19 July 2022 at Paradise City, Incheon, South Korea. This event is the first award ceremony focusing on streaming series content (dramas, variety, and stars) in South Korea. Furthermore, The 1st Blue Dragon Series Awards was hosted by television host Jun Hyun Moo and Girls’ Generation’s Im Yoon Ah.
Since it targeted dramas, variety shows, and stars, the nominees for Blue Dragon Series Awards 2022 were announced before the event. The drama and entertainment categories included Through the Darkness, Yumi’s Cells, Squid Game, Play ou, Girls’ High School Mystery Class, SNL Korea, etc. As for the supporting and rookie awards (male and female), many new and old faces were nominated, such as Lee Seung Yuop, Jung Chan Sung, Bibi, Choi Ye Na, Son Seok Koo, Ahn Bo Hyun, Lee Jung Eun, Kim Joo Ryoung, etc.
Meanwhile, the nominees for the best leads and entertainers (male and female) included Jung Hae In, Kim Nam Gil, Kim Hye Soo, Han Hyo Joo, Shin Dong Yup, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyori, Yura, and many more! - Best Rookie Actor- Koo Kyo Hwan (D.P.)
The South Korean actor Koo Kyo Hwan played Corporal Han Ho Yul character in Netflix’s D.P. Unlike typical rigid military officers, Han Ho Yul is different. And Koo Kyo Hwan has done an exceptional job portraying this playful but deep-raw character who occasionally guides but most often annoys Ah Jun Ho (Jung Hae In). Koo Kyo Hwan as Corporal Han takes viewers on a crazy ride. Whereas at one moment, you love his comical antics, and then at another point, he leaves you speechless due to outstanding acting.
- Best Rookie Actress- Jung Ho Yeon (Squid Game)
The South Korean model and actress Jung Ho Yeon played Kang Sae Byeok character in Netflix’s Squid Game. Kang Sae Byeok is a North Korean defector who enters the game to pay for a broker who can rescue her parents across the border and buy a house for her reunited family to live in. Despite the cold and harsh external cover, Kang Sae Byeok was one of the warmest characters in Squid Game. Thus, there is no doubt Jung Ho Yeon deserved to be the winner of the Blue Dragon Series Best Rookie Actress Award 2022 due to her first excellent performance!

- Best Supporting Actor- Lee Hak Joo (Political Fever)
Like Lee Hak Joo received the Blue Dragon Series Best Supporting Actor Award, he deserves to receive the best secretary award. In Wavve’s Political Fever, Lee Hak Joo as Kim Soo Jin showed impressive acting skills as the secretary of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Kim Sung Ryung). It’s a domestically hit drama, but many international viewers may not know since it was released on Wavve. - Best Supporting Actress– Kim Shin Rok (Hellbound)
The rising South Korean actor Kim Shin Rok played Park Jeong Ja character in Netflix’s Hellbound. Park Jeong Ja is a single mother subject to the first public demonstration. Even for a supporting role, Kim Shin Rok showcased her acting skills, leaving unforgettable prints of her character in viewers’ minds. - Best Actor- Lee Jung Jae (Squid Game)
One of the successful actors, Lee Jung Jae, played the leading role of Seong Gi Hun in Netflix’s Squid Game. - Best Actress- Kim Go Eun (Yumi’s Cells)
The leading character of the first-ever live-action and 3D animation combined drama Yumi’s Cells ‘Kim Yumi’ is played by Kim Go Eun. From working as an office worker to a well-known writer, Kim Yumi goes through various ups and downs. Kim Yumi is nothing extraordinary, but the warm touch of the mundane and her struggle have made her character fan-favorite! And the most credit goes to actress Kim Go Eun who did an exceptional job delivering Kim Yumi that many of us can relate to.
- Best Drama- D.P.
D.P. stands for Deserter Pursuit and is a military kdrama. Set in 2014, it narrates the story of a team of Korean military police with their mission to catch deserters. The series has magnified the undesirable nature of the military, especially within a South Korean context. Therefore, various sensitive subjects like bullying and hazing have been covered remarkably. Thus, it’s not surprising that D.P. kdrama won the Blue Dragon Series Best Drama Award 2022! It’s a six-episode series available on Netflix.
- Popular Star Award
The winners of the Blue Dragon Series Popular Star Award 2022 were Jung Hae In, Kang Daniel, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Yong Jin, Park Seo Ham, and DKZ’s Jaechan.
