Elvis Presley’s granddaughter and daughter of Lisa Marie, Riley Keough, has talked about her Graceland inheritance, Presley family legacy, and losing her mother, Lisa Marie. Riley, who hails from an acting family background, must have read all the tales of her family in tabloids.
Recently, the actress revealed insights into her growing up as Presley and the recent sufferings that she had gone with. The only grandchild of Elvis Presley, Riley is the sole trustee of her mother, Lisa Marie, ‘s properties. The estate property inheritance has created a legal dispute with her grandmother Priscilla Presley.
Lisa’s mother, Priscilla Presley, had filed a lawsuit against her daughter’s will earlier this year. The legal dispute revolved over a 2016 amendment to Lisa’s will, which excised Priscilla Presley as the estate’s trustee. Dallas actress’ attorneys also argued that an amendment was never provided to their client while Lisa’s lifetime.
While shooting for a September cover story magazine, the actress revealed about losing her mother, Lisa Marie, who died of cardiac arrest in January. Her mother’s death raised difficulties, resulting in legal action against her grandmother, which is now almost resolved, and her brother Benjamin Storm Keough’s suicide in 2020 exhausted her mind.
The actress said that “I think I (Riley) have certainly been chosen for some wonderful things and for some horrible things too,” The Terminal List actress continued, “I (Riley) am aware that I have been through a lot of crazy things, but I don’t feel like a victim. ‘I don’t feel like poor Riley.'”

Riley Keough said her Mother, Lisa Marie was ‘Fierce’ and a ‘wonderful mother.’
The connection between mother and her child is eternal, whereas the actress almost grew up with her Marie. For unversed, Riley’s parents, Lisa Marie and Danny Keough (musician), divorced when she was five. The Daisy Jones & Six actress said the last time she saw her mother was at the dinner party on January 11.
The actress expressed about her mother and said that “I remember thinking about how beautiful she (Lisa) looked.” While a 34-year-old actress was talking about her mother, she said that it would take hours to speak about Lisa’s best qualities.
She also said, “She (Lisa) was so unapologetically herself in all circumstances and strong. Her life was difficult, and she endured treachery(betrayal) with the lack of real friends and love. She (her mother) had some great relationships and friends in her lifetime, but I (Riley) don’t think she ever had.”
The actress continued, “People were just coming for her since birth and expecting something from her and not being authentic. She had to develop a thick skin and powerful presence and extremely loving and loyal and sort of lioness.” Riley also described her mother as a “really wonderful mother, a fierce woman, and the ‘best mom.'”
However, let’s talk about the actress inheritance drama between Priscilla and Lisa. Riley says, “I (Riley) am trying to think about to answer to it; that is not a twenty-minute conversation.” Later, she added the battle over Lisa’s and Priscilla’s trust and control of Graceland is over.
Now, the sole trustee of Graceland Riley paid her 78 years old grandmother one million USD and 400,000 USD in legal fees in a settlement that is given her ownership of her grandfather’s Elvis Graceland estate. When her mother, Lisa, died, the actress said there was a lot of chaos in their lives.
Everything felt like the carpet ripped out and the floor melted. Everyone was tensed to understand how to take the next step, and it took a couple of minutes to understand the details of the situation because it was complicated.
She also said that “We are a family, but there was also a huge business side of our family. So I (Riley) think that clarity needed to be had.” The American Honey actress said about her grandmother Priscilla and her mom’s relationship.
She said, “They (Priscilla and Lisa) have never been happy. There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything will be how it was.” The Grammy nominee actress called her grandmother “a beautiful woman.” Also, she added the rift regarding inheritance issues was settled, and the actress said, “Things with Grandma will be happy now that it’s settled.”
According to reports, Priscilla divorced Elvis in 1973, although the musician died in 1977 due to cardiac arrest. So, the Naked Gun actress can’t be buried at Graceland, but Riley said, “If she (Priscilla) wants to be, of course, sharing Graceland with the world was her idea from the start.”
