Talent sure does run in the Grohl family, and we’re not complaining(maybe a little jealous, yes)!
The Glastonbury Festival this year was a musically star-studded affair and packed with surprises that spanned over five days. The Foo Fighters made a surprise appearance at the event and even had a surprise guest with them to perform a track from their newest album, ‘But Here We Are.’
The Foo Fighters are a rock band that was started in the 90s by Dave Grohl, who used to be the drummer for the popular group Nirvana. For those who were scratching their heads, wondering who ‘The Churnups,’ a supposed mystery band who were announced to play at the Glastonbury music festival, was, Friday evening unveiled the long-awaited answer, which, to be honest, was quite evident towards the end.
The Glastonbury Festival line-up was announced earlier this year, and mystery band ‘The Churnups’ had people speculating who the band could actually be. The Foo Fighters took the Pyramid stage on June 23rd for a one-hour concert and confirmed rumors of them being the mystery group which spread like wildfire due to a particular letter written to fans by Dave Grohl.
The group even addressed how their appearance was intended to be kept secret and how fans were pretty much well aware of their appearance. Dave hilariously pointed out that the group was not great at keeping secrets before the group did ‘My Hero,’ telling the fans, “You guys f***ing knew it was us this whole time.”
He was absolutely right. The reveal was indeed very anticlimactic because of Dave’s letter and the fact that he had been seen hanging around backstage during the festival earlier that day by eagle-eyed fans.
Nevertheless, their one-hour set proved to be a surreal experience, starting with their hit ‘All My Life’ and Dave screaming at the crowd saying, “All right m***********s, let’s dance!”. Any Foo Fighter fan would have had chills all over because of their amazing set with brilliant renditions of their hits like ‘The Pretender.’
They only had an hour to play, and they, without question, made the most of it with their performances. Their Glastonbury set this year coincidentally celebrates their twenty-fifth anniversary of playing at the Glastonbury festival during the same day and time slot.
During the performance, Dave brought out a special surprise for the crowd. Fans were lucky enough to see Dave introduce his daughter Violet to the crowd for a joint performance of “Show Me How,” a track from their eleventh and most recent studio album ‘But Here We Are.’ The song was written for Dave’s grandmother and Violet’s grandmother.

Violet Maye Grohl is one of Dave’s three children from his second marriage with Jordyn Blum. She was born in 2005 and showcased the talents her dad passed down to her as she entered her teenage years. She is the eldest among Dave’s three daughters and is a sister to Harper Willow and Ophelia Saint.
Dave introduced Violet, telling the crowd that there was one more person in the Foo Fighters that was going to come out to sing a song with them right at that moment. He introduced the song, too, saying that the song was one that they had done only a couple of times.

He continued, “But we couldn’t waste this opportunity of being with you lovely people for me being able to sing the song with my favorite singer in the world.” He then proudly welcomed his daughter onto the stage by calling out her name, saying that his daughter, “Ms. Violet Grohl,” would come out and sing a song with them.
Dave, in his all-black shirt and pants outfit, played the guitar as his lovely daughter sang her heart out, wearing a black-and-white skirt and shirt combo as she joined the band for a spectacular rendition of “Show Me How.”
In an adorable moment that turned everyone’s heart into rainbow confetti goo, Dave beamed with pride and shouted out, “That’s my girl!”. He also had the crowd chuckling with additional comment, saying, “I love it when you’re on stage with your daughter, and you hit a bad note.”
The performance was adorable and epic all in one and was definitely a core dad-daughter memory for the two Grohls alike!
