Stay By My Side episode 4 will be released this week. The boy love season has started with plenty of content flooding the screens. However, one of the finest, which is a blend of romance and supernatural genre, is Stay By My Side.
The Taiwanese drama began its journey with a premiere on 7 July 2023 and will continue to run till 1 September 2023. It is a mini-series with just 10 episodes out of which 3 have already been released.

Stay By My Side Plot Synopsis
Bu Xia used to live with his grandfather and grew up being afraid of ghosts. After his grandfather’s death, he had to move in with a new student and also starts hearing voices in his ears.
He perceives it as hallucinations and does not shy away from seeking help. However, with time he realizes that these are not the voices in his head, rather he can hear the departed souls. Being afraid of ghosts, he tries to seek comfort.
His charming roommate Jiang Chi is a sports geek and academically brilliant. But one more thing he’s good at is being a comfort to Bu Xia. Slowly, Bu realizes that the closer he is to Jiang Chi, the more the voices of the ghosts stay away.
He is determined to stay closer to Jiang Chi to keep the voices away but slowly his conditional love develops into deep feelings. He wants to let Jiang know about hearing the ghosts but is afraid of being called a lunatic.
Stay By My Side Episode 3 Recap
The episode begins with Bu Xia calling his sister and asking if the chanting paper is ruined. She is bewildered. He tells her that he has fever since evening and can hear voices.
She goes ahead to check the box. She adds further that Grandpa told them that whoever takes over the shrine has to take the responsibility of connecting to the supernatural world.
Since Bu Xia is scared, she volunteered and burnt her paper but accidentally she burnt the corner of Bu Xia’s paper. She asks him to calm down. Jiang Chi enters the room and Bu Xia holds his leg and begs Jiang Chi to save him from the ghosts.
Jiang exclaims that Bu Xia is the ghost himself. Xia notices that staying closer to Jiang makes the voices go silent. The next day, he tells his sister about it and she asks about Jiang’s 8-character horoscope.
Xia says he has already asked but Jiang thinks he’s mad. Now, a girl approaches Xia with cookies and asks them him to give it to Jiang. The latter is seen sitting on a bench who is chatting to his mother and the relationship does not seem right.
When Xia notices him sitting under a tree, he tells him about the cookies. He refuses to take them and Xia eats them instead. He gets some cream on his lips and Jiang wipes it. Later, all the students get to see pictures of Jiang and Xia together and have a variety of things to say.
When Xia approaches a group of boys to test if anyone else could silence the voices of ghosts like Jiang, he notices the circulating pictures. Jiang also comes and Xia hugs him saying he is really special.
Jiang pins him to the wall and asks what he means by special but Xia escapes. A girl approaches Jiang to persuade him to join the basketball team but he denies it.
He tells her that a friend of his is being harassed by someone in multiple ways but actually he is talking about himself and Xia.The person touches him, tries to stay close to him, and even says that the friend is special.
The girl suggests that the person is into his friend and will make moves to try to be together. Jiang leaves.Meanwhile, the basketball team captain wants Xia to convince Jiang to join the basketball team.
In the room, Xia tries to do the same and tells Jiang that if he joins the basketball team, the two can spend more time together and that he feels comfortable with him. When he trips, Jiang holds him and the two get close.
