While talking about the newest merger, George R.R. Martin has teased that it might affect some of the planned Game of Thrones spinoffs, including the one that was supposed to star Kit Harrington. Why Did HBO Change To Max?
HBO has now been changed to Max after the parent company merged with Discovery, which will also lead to some big changes to the platform. The merger was teased even before it happened as Discovery’s chief financial officer Gunnar Wiedenfels earlier confirmed that they are eventually planning to merge HBO Max and Discovery+.
Viewers have noticed how HBO Max has also already been removing several original movies from the streaming service. These include Cole Sprouse’s Moonshot and The Witches remake starring Anne Hathaway.
However, this has come off as a surprise as HBO Max had earlier announced which movies and series would not be available on the streaming service. Several media tabloids have stated that these titles that are removed are part of a long list of films and series that are being pulled off HBO Max and Discovery+, with the two services gearing up for the merger.
