A rising popular Japanese manga series, the creation of Osamu Nishi is, Mairimashita! Iruma-kun. The English name would be, ‘Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-Kun. The story revolves around the life of a hard-working boy who manages to stay optimistic even with selfish parents who push him to carry the burdens of shouldering their debt all alone by taking up all kinds of odd jobs.
But, that is not the end of his parents’ greed as they inconsiderately sell their son off, and not to any other human, but a demon, at that too, a very strong one.
Luckily, Mr. Sullivan, one of the three major contenders for the position of the demon king, adopts Iruma as his grandson and sincerely dotes on him. Iruma, on the other hand, shifts into a new environment like no other and is sure to experience the dynamics and rules of the demon world.
Now, in his new world, he has to attend a demon school, where he has to hide his truth of being a human, or he is at risk of being eaten by demons. Iruma proficiently uses his skill to dodge hits and crises and relies on his luck and training to establish himself a strong foothold in the devil school.
Even with the challenging school life, Iruma can achieve fantastic feats and increase his rank among the other devils. He makes many new friends and becomes the ‘hottest’ boy at the school!
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun Plot
Iruma Suzuki, a fifteen-year-old lad, is the lead protagonist in the fantasy/comedy series. He is unfortunate enough to be sold to a devil by his materialistic parents. But, he is also optimistic, hard-working, and resilient to handle the curveballs life throws at him.
Also, the supposedly human boy has a superpower which is his excellent ability to dodge crises and attacks. He has one weakness, though, that this soft, polite boy can never reject anyone. It is intriguing to see how this pacifist finds his way around in the violent demonic world.
Alice Asmodeus, previously a prideful and haughty boy due to his intelligence and high power skills in fire magic, when he is defeated by Iruma, he decides to become his servant. He is particularly sincere and loyal towards Iruma and gets protected by him. Alice is tall with graceful feminine features, pink hair, and pointed ears.
Lord Sullivan, a strong personality in the demon world and also Iruma’s adoptive devil grandfather, is a contender for the position of the devil king. Also, he is the headmaster of the devil school which Iruma attends. He is very doting towards Iruma and spoils this grandson to no end. Lord Sullivan, though highly respected and feared, is impulsive and absurdly emotional.
