Rom-Com series are the most entertaining of all genres. When a manga artist offers these types of combinations—romantic and funny—the audience tends to enjoy it more. The entertainment we want in a short period of time that leaves an impression is what gives us pleasure.
So if you have loved watching series like Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Toradora, and Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out, then this anime that we will be talking about today is quite similar, and you should certainly add it to your watchlist.
Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro’s second season, titled “Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack,” is coming this weekend. The series is an anime adaptation of the same-named Japanese webcomic written and illustrated by Nanashi, who goes by the name 774. Shinji Ushiro directed the second season, which was animated by OLM Studio (Oriental Light & Magic).
The first season, which debuted in the summer of 2021, from April to June, featured 12 episodes directed by Hirokazu Hanai and Telecom Animation Film Studio. It was a huge success.
Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro: Plot and Main Characters
The story revolves around the two main characters, Naoto Hachiouji and Hayase Nagatoro. For those who haven’t read the manga, which currently has 14 volumes, you should definitely give it a try before watching the anime.
Although you may despise the first few chapters because of how a bully ruthlessly treats a boy, don’t worry; this toxic relationship will transform into a cute and healthy one, so you have to be patient and give it a chance.
So, speaking of the bully, Miss Nagatoro, who regularly teases her senpai until he tears up, has a mischievous nature, is skilled in judo, and is strong, whereas her senpai, Naoto Hachiouji, who is opposite to Nagatoro, is very shy, antisocial, and a very skilled aspiring manga artist.
He has to deal with Nagatoro and her friends forcing him into awkward situations on a daily basis, but he tries to remain calm in the hopes that it will pass. As Naoto sees Nagatoro and her friends Gamo, Yoshii, and Sakura on a daily basis, their friendship evolves, and he eventually turns his antisocial life into a more sociable and much less miserable one while developing feelings for Nagatoro.
This bullying evolved into teasing and then into an absolutely amazing wholesome story. It’s incredible that it all turned out to be a sweet romance. And, yes, we can anticipate that there will be more in the sequel.
“Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro” is not the type of anime where a girl is typically polite and introverted, but she’s really charmingly blunt and fiery and enjoys messing up, especially with the person she likes. If you want to see how a blunt, extroverted character flips the coin in a romantic comedy, this won’t disappoint.
