Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree is the manga adaption of the award-winning game series by FromSoftware named Elden Ring. The series started publishing back in September 2022 and is written and illustrated by NIkiichi Tobita.
It is a story of the war between the demigods who wanted just one outcome from it, to get their hands on the shards of the Elden Ring. These ruins contain immense power. All the demigods were the offspring of Queen Marika The Eternal who is nowhere to be found.
Then we come to notice a man named Aseo who under a prophecy was supposed to be the one to cross the fog and the land between, the land of the demigods, to stand before the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord.
The problem is Aseo is in a graveyard in the lime grave with no sort of possessions under his name along with no memory of who he was or how he ended up alone in a ditch. Aseo has a very slim chance of survival but then he meets Melaina, a mysterious maiden.
Melaina presents a deal to Aseo in which she would provide him with the very necessities required for the survival and sustainment of his journey and in return, she would like to accompany him along on his adventures

Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree Chapter 18: Recap
Before talking about the upcoming chapters let us have a little look at the happenings in the story up until chapter 18. The previous chapter was released on 4th March 2023 and is titled ‘No Caelid Ahead’.
The chapter starts with Melaina coming up to tell Aseo to not continue his journey through the lands of Caelid, she mentions that this path is way more dangerous and nothing good will come if he goes through this land. She backs her statement by asking him to see the scenery around him which was pure destruction.
She advises that as Aseo has bested the Godrick he should try Liurnia of the lakes instead. Aseo is astonished upon hearing this and asks how she knows about Godrick. Melaina tells him that the defeat of Godrick spread like a wildfire and he is kind of famous now.
Melaina then warns Aseo as in these land in between there are some people who find fame in killing other souls and he should be careful considering the great rune he possesses people who are governed only by the feeling of greed is more likely to be coming after him.
Then Melaina asks Aseo to come into her service. Although this offer does come with benefits, Melaina gives Aseo knight armour which would help him in his battles and she also promises to reveal the location of the next demi god if he agrees to the offer.
Unfortunately, Aseo went over the equip load when she gave him the armour and he couldn’t even move a muscle, to begin with. Then they further discuss the terms of the offer but Aseo delays his decision on whether he wants to accept it or not and on this note the chapter ends.
