BritBox’s Crime Season 2 is almost here; the show is a psychological crime procedural thriller based on Irvine Welsh’s book and promises a lot in its sophomore season. After all, the debut season garnered lead actor Dougray Scott an Emmy Award nomination, and he’s joined again by a slew of great Brit talent of the likes of John Simm and Joanna Vanderham.
This sophomore season will revolve around a murder, an official coverup, and how the team manages to get around being stonewalled; roster changes and the entire season will have topics of payback, social issues, and identity politics. If you like procedural crime shows with a regional twist and touchy psychological subjects, then Crime is the kind of show you wouldn’t want to miss.
Crime Season 2 Preview
In Crime’s sophomore season, we’ll see how Ray Lennox gets ready to come back to the Edinburgh Crime investigation unit as he’s more than eager to prove himself after recovering from putting Confectioner behind bars. But to his surprise, a lot of things have changed since he took that break.
For one part, Amanda Drummond took a promotion, Tommy Stark and Norrie Erskine are in the team, and Bob Toal has no spark. So, when Ray’s coworker is attacked, he and Drummond must come to terms with the fact that everything has changed and must solve a case that has many complex aspects to it.
This season will be about a murder in a hotel, the victim is a high-ranking person, and the authorities are doing everything they can to keep it under a tight lid. So Ray must do what he can to undo the official coverup. But as it turns out, things won’t be so easy as he and the team will be stonewalled, and they must do whatever they can to bring the culprits to justice. Can they do it and overcome their personal challenges?
