Steven Moffat’s newest work, The Inside Man, will be airing a new episode soon. A thrilling series filled with drama and some humorous instances, Moffat wanted to create another suspense series that, although it may seem very frustrating at first, does get better as it progresses.
Inside Man premiered on BBC on September 26th, 2022. It had 4 episodes ordered, and with the 3rd episode releasing soon, the series is almost at its end. Steven Moffat is known for his shows that are dramatic and thrilling with an unexpected ending that’ll leave you pondering over life for a while.
Inside Man, produced by Hartswood Films, has gained a rating of 8.1 on IMDb, and viewers everywhere are curious to see if this show will live up to other works of Steven Moffat.
Inside Man: The Plot So Far
The story began with Journalist Beth Davenport, Played by Lydia West, being harrassed, but she was saved by Janice Fife, who also happened to be present there. She thanks Janice and asks if she would like to be interviewed for her brave work. Janice declines, but they both agree to hang out for a coffee sometime.
Jefferson Greiff, a murderer on death row, is contacted by a Senator from Arizona. Greiff used to be a criminology professor and now solves cases that people bring to him, but only if they meet his criteria. Which was that they should have a moral value, as he wanted to do good while he could.
The senator asks him to solve a mystery he has become a part of. Every time he is intimate with his wife, he gets an amount of 235 dollars and 55 cents in his bank. Greiff lets him know that his case does not meet his criteria, as the senator had assaulted women, and this was related to it. Confused, Greiff’s inmate partner, Dillon asks what could be the reason behind it.
Meanwhile, Harry Watling, a Vicar saves a suicidal man’s USB for him, as his mother was looking for it, and he didn’t want her to find the bad stuff on it. Vicar hides it in his bag, not knowing what it is. Back at his home, He and Janice, who also is the tutor of Harry’s son, looks for a place to transfer some of her Math modules.
The son gives her the USB from Harry’s bag, saying it’s his, and she opens it only to find disturbing content related to children. She calls Harry and shows it to him. Harry, completely confused yet frustrated, asks her not to tell anyone. She tries to leave, but Harry unwantedly ends up locking her in his basement.
The journalist Beth asks to interview Jefferson. she enquires about his reason for murdering his wife, to which he does not respond. The inmate’s friend, Dillon is still confused about the senator’s case. To which Greiff responds with a darkly hilarious answer which no one could have guessed.
Inside Man Episode 2: Recap
In the last episode, which came out on 27th September 2022, the story showed all the main characters from different backgrounds slowly becoming involved with each other.
Beth requests to meet Jefferson again as she has a question about Janice’s disappearance for him. Jefferson, in exchange for helping her with her friend, asks her to perform an assignment for him. She agrees and goes to complete it.
Back at Harry’s house, he and his wife are confused regarding how to proceed next. Janice, being the smart woman she is, decides to cut herself and smear blood everywhere so that if someone searches for her, they will find evidence in every corner. They don’t want to keep Janice locked up but don’t want her to escape either. Harry comes up with a risky way to solve things.
Inside Man Episode 3: Release Date & What to expect
The third episode is set to air this Monday, 3rd October 2022. It will be the penultimate episode of this season.
Harry will try to execute his plan to see if it works. Beth, on the other hand, will face a strange situation when she is contacted by a person involved in Jefferson Greiff’s case.
Inside man shows us human nature in moments of desperation. Jefferson had rightly said in episode 1 that “Everyone is a murderer, they just haven’t met the right person yet”.

Inside man airs exclusively on BBC UK at around 9:00 pm. It airs twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays, with 60-minute episodes. It is also available online on BBC iplayer.
