Who is Elliot Stabler?

In the Manhattan Special Victims Unit, Elliot “El” Stabler, Sr. was a detective. For more than 12 years, he worked alongside Detective Olivia Benson under the direction of Captain Donald Cragen.

What’s SVU all about?
The American criminal drama television program Law & Order: Special Victims Unit was developed by Dick Wolf’s own production firm, Wolf Entertainment, for NBC. The way that certain episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit are loosely based on actual incidents that have made headlines is similar to that of the original Law & Order.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, based in Manhattan’s 16th precinct of the New York City Police Department, explores the seedier side of New York City as the investigators of a new elite squad, the Special Victims Unit, look into and prosecute different sexually themed crimes such rape, child sexual abuse, and domestic violence.
While attempting to balance the consequences of the probe on their own lives and trying to avoid letting the sinister aspect of these crimes influence them, they also look into the abuse of children, the crippled, and the elderly who are non-sexual crime victims and need specialized attention.
Why Did Elliot Stabler Leave SVU?
Meloni disapproved of the way Stabler was dropped from SVU. ” The way my character departed was, in my opinion, incredibly disappointing”, He said during an interview. “It nearly has the impression that we won’t finish more than one or two episodes before continuing on with our lives. There will just always be opportunities there, in my opinion. People’s curiosity with how we connect and how that relationship has altered will never die.” Meloni also said that he departed SVU after season 12 due to problems with his contract negotiations in a different interview with in 2021.
Meloni told the publication that he requested a raise from NBC, but when the network refused to give him the amount he desired, he attempted to reduce the number of episodes he appeared in, a request that the SVU producers also found difficult to accept. Even more, Meloni acknowledged that he resigned from the Special Victims Unit (SVU) in order to pursue “new activities.” Stabler is a married father of five children. At the conclusion of season 12, he left the Police Department.
