Zenless Zone Zero fans are debating a series of character mods that remove the animal features from several Thiren characters and transform them into more conventional human designs. The modifications have attracted attention because those traits are a defining part of the characters’ appearances and the game’s world.

The discussion centers on characters including Alice Thymefield, Sigrid de L’Azur, Jane Doe, Hoshimi Miyabi, Ju Fufu, and Pulchra. HoYoverse’s official Zenless Zone Zero website continues to feature these characters in their original designs.

Zenless Zone Zero players showcase humanized versions of Tyrens, including Jane, Alice, Lucia, and Sigrid, through fan-made character modifications.

Images showing the modified designs have circulated through the community, with some players questioning the decision to remove the characters’ animal-inspired traits. One Reddit discussion about the modifications included users describing the changes as turning the characters fully human rather than partially animal-like.

The controversy is primarily a community reaction to fan-made modifications rather than an official change to Zenless Zone Zero. There is no indication that HoYoverse has altered the characters themselves or endorsed the modifications.

The trend reportedly began with Alice, before similar changes were applied to other Thiren characters. Some of the altered versions have received particularly negative reactions, with Pulchra’s humanized appearance becoming a notable example in the discussion.
