Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 20: Release Date, Spoilers & Streaming Guide

The final stretch of Young Sheldon’s sixth season is well underway as everybody’s favorite nerd’s teenage years at the Texas college is explored, as well as the lives of those around him. Sheldon always finds a way to make his poor mother cringes at his nerdiness, his father laughs, and his brother explore the challenges of coming of age after having that baby with Mandy, which got locked up in the car on the last episode and that event made the tension between those two chills a bit.

As we’ll see in the upcoming episodes, Sheldon will become accustomed to honing his academic skills, something that, in the long run, will become his presentation card in the social world, as we saw in The Big Bang Theory. However, the path for Sheldon isn’t easy as his capacity to deal with others in the academic world often conflicts with him putting off the authority figures that pop up along the way.

Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 19 Recap

Our episode begins with Sheldon in voice-off giving his take on how Life the boardgame should be. Then we cut to Sam getting a letter of acceptance to Columbia while Sheldon puts her off in his characteristic manner, but Sam ends up putting down Shelly because, despite his academic record, his credentials might not be as good as he thinks they are if he’s aiming to go to a better university. In the end, we know that he does, but that exchange made Sheldon realize that he needs to hone his academic skills.

The episode moves to Mandy sitting in her living room, bored to death, watching the weather news while her mom checks on her; they talk chit-chat until Mandy’s baby wakes up and starts crying, and Mandy goes to check on her. Later on, we’re back to Sheldon bantering with his two teachers concerning his academic publication records, and as it turns out, Sheldon always dismissed his teacher’s bits of advice on keeping up with that, and now that is coming around to bite him in the ass.

Georgie’s Attempts at Parenthood

Georgie has another discussion with Mandy; she’s concerned that he’s living in a garage, isn’t making enough money, and Mandy wants a career, and having to take care of the child is becoming more and more important. The two have dinner with Sheldon, his mom, and his dad, and while Mandy is focused on Georgie and the baby, Sheldon obnoxiously manages to turn the conversation around him and how great a prospect for universities he is.

To make more money, Georgie goes to work with his baby at the video store, and the people playing with the poker machines rub the baby’s hands for good luck. Georgie starts charging them money in exchange for using his daughter as a lucky charm. Then, Mandy’s mom pops in and tells him that he should get his act together; he has an awakening and tells Mandy about his decision. Mandy tries out to be a weatherwoman and confuses the staff at the broadcast station.

Sheldon’s Grad School Application

Sheldon calls a university on the phone demanding to be accepted, and they hang up on him; then, in the car, he annoys his mother concerning his future as he’s in full robot mode, and her mom can’t figure out a damn thing he says. Then, Shelly goes on to pester a few professors around campus concerning academic publications, only to get his door shut. Eventually, at a meeting with his teachers, they decide to recommend Shelly for a summer program in Heidelberg to send him 5000 miles away from them, and he’s excited about it.
