Yen Press has announced ten new manga, light novel, and audiobook acquisitions at its industry panel during MCM London Comic Con 2026. The newly licensed titles are scheduled to begin releasing in April 2027, expanding the publisher’s catalogue across its Yen Press, Yen On, and Yen Audio imprints.

The announcement includes audiobook adaptations of Scarlet, written by acclaimed filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda, and ’Cause I’m Freedom!, a fantasy light novel about a swordfighting prodigy who embraces magical firearms. Yen On will also publish additional stories from the romantic comedy Cross-Dressing Villainess Cecilia Sylvie and the fantasy series And Thus, the Wizard Noi Garené Became a Bride 100 Years Later.

The six new manga acquisitions cover psychological horror, dungeon fantasy, supernatural mysteries, romance, and Boys’ Love. Among the highlights are a deluxe omnibus of Yoshiki Tonogai’s Secret: Homicide Edition and manga adaptations of two novels previously published under Yen On.

Yen Audio and Yen On Add Four New Titles

Written by Mamoru Hosoda, Scarlet follows a princess whose uncle usurps the throne and executes her father. After failing to secure revenge, Scarlet awakens in a dangerous land of the dead, where she encounters Hijiri, a nurse from modern-day Japan. Together, they go on a journey through a hostile world where survival is far from guaranteed.

’Cause I’m Freedom! by Taro Hitsuji, with illustrations by Azumi Akitake, follows Faye Leonheart, a seventeen-year-old swordfighting prodigy who returns from her training pilgrimage carrying a magical machine gun. Disowned by her family, Faye turns her attention to ancient technology known as overgear and sets out to explore mysterious ruins.

Yen On is also adding Cross-Dressing Villainess Cecilia Sylvie: Extra Round! by Hiroro Akizakura, illustrated by Dangmill. The collection features additional stories following the original series, including alternate romantic storylines involving Oscar and Gilbert.

Meanwhile, And Thus, the Wizard Noi Garené Became a Bride 100 Years Later by Eiko Mutsuhana follows a powerful wizard who sacrifices herself to save her apprentice, only to awaken a century later and discover that he has returned as a man determined to marry her.

Six New Manga Expand Yen Press’s Catalogue

The six manga acquisitions introduce several distinct genres and concepts.

Secret: Homicide Edition by Yoshiki Tonogai brings back the psychological horror series in a deluxe omnibus. Following a deadly bus accident, six survivors are told that three murderers are among them. They have one week to confront their crimes before evidence is handed to the police.

My Yandere Girlfriend Hiding in the Dungeon Kills Me Over and Over Again, by Eiji Nomura with the original story by Nikita Kitagawa, follows Kiska after he is falsely accused and banished to a dangerous dungeon. His chance to survive comes through a special ability called “Save & Reset!”

About a Place in the Kinki Region, adapted by Tsukasa Usui from Sesuji’s novel, explores an unsettling mystery surrounding a location associated with strange stories and an editor who disappears while investigating them.

The remaining titles broaden the publisher’s romance and Boys’ Love offerings. My Childhood Friend Meows Under the Skirt by Raku Nanahashi, based on Hotori Handa’s original story, combines a strained childhood friendship with a supernatural cat curse. Summer Boy Blues by Miyako Tono follows two boys whose complicated relationship resurfaces during their high school entrance exam summer.

Finally, Is the Hot-Voiced Streamer Into Me?! by APEKO follows college student Sora Hoshino, whose favorite BL roleplay ASMR streamer invites him to meet in person, leading to an unexpected encounter.

All ten acquisitions are scheduled to begin releasing in April 2027. Yen Press has not provided individual release dates or additional publication details in the announcement.
