Excited for Without Sin Episode 1? Vicky McClure, who starred in Line of Duty, will star in a new four-episode psychological thriller on ITVX. The gripping drama centers on a heartbroken mother who confronts the guy who was convicted of killing her teenage daughter, only to be shocked by new information as she retraces her steps in the past.
Frances Poletti, a writer with ties to Nottingham, wrote Without Sin. He developed the show for Harris and McClure, the former of whom worked with her and Jonny Owens’ production business, Build Your Own Films, to co-produce the show. Veteran actor McClure from Line of Duty will play grieving mom Stella Tomlinson, who ends up in a case that led to killing of her daughter.

Three years had passed since the night that Stella Tomlinson’s daughter Maisy, was found dead at their house, with Charles Stone, wearing a hood, standing besides her body. Stella decides to live a nocturnal lifestyle as an Uber driver since she is tormented by shame and regret about what happened that evening. She has a difficult relationship with her ex-husband PAUL, who continues to live in their old home with his new partner, Meera.
Paul and Stella reunite after being called by Restorative Justice in an effort to move on and listen to a taped message from Charles, who she believes is seeking forgiveness for his transgressions and to apologize for killing their daughter.
Following this event, Stella leaves the middle-class neighborhood she shared with Maisy and Paul and returns to her past on the Millfields estate, where she finds her mom Jessie and her ex-boyfriend now best friend Remy. Stella, however, reaches her breaking point when Paul informs her that Meera is expecting a child and he would like to move on with his life.
Having nothing to lose, Stella decides to accompany Bobbi, a mediator for restorative justice, to the prison and see the person who killed her daughter. Charles flips the conversation, telling Stella that he has been falsely accused of killing Maisy, rather than confessing. He tries to convince Stella to look into the missing case of Cleo Dale, another local teenager, whom he thinks may have some connection to Maisy’s death.
When Stella finds out that Cleo and Maisy were friends since they went to the same local cycling school, she leaves her house and goes back to the prison to see Charles.

Vicky McClure, who plays Stella, the heartbroken and devastated mother, is shown in the brief clip meeting her daughter’s killer in jail. She visits Charles Stone, portrayed by Johnny Harris, but things don’t go as planned because he professes to be innocent.
Filming for Without Sin took place in Shrewsbury and Nottingham. Without Sin has Johnny Harris, Andy Harries, Vicky McClure, Sian McWilliams, and Johnny Harris as executive producers. Guy Hescott will oversee the drama, with Al Mackay directing it.
Vicky McClure, best known for her performance in Line of Duty, will take center stage in the suspense thriller as Stella Tomlinson. Charles is portrayed by Johnny Harris. Johnny is well known for playing Vicky’s co-star in This Is England. He has also had notable roles in Medici, and The Salisbury Poisonings. Johnny will also be playing Magwitch in the upcoming 2022 BBC1 production of Great Expectations. Jessie, Stella’s mother, is played by Dorothy Atkinson, and Perry Fitzpatrick plays Paul, Stella’s ex-husband.
