Jane Seymour’s latest show for Acorn TV dropped its debut season with great fanfare. But will there be a Harry Wild Season 2? When will we see a sophomore season of Harriet Wild and her trusty sidekick solving all those crimes in Dublin? If you have any of these questions, you’ve come to the right place. We scooped the internet for the most up-to-date intel and summarize it for you!
If you’re not familiar with Harry Wild, it is a comedy-drama crime series starring Jane Seymour in the stellar role of a retired college professor who grudgingly decided to pivot towards law enforcement. After deciding she’s no good grandmother material and her social skills are rather awkward, she stumbles upon the ability to solve crimes. Now let’s take a look at this show’s second season possibilities.
Harry Wild Plot
Jane Seymour plays Harriet “Harry” Wild, a retired professor of literature at a prestigious institution. In the wake of her mugging, she grudgingly accepts to stay at the house of her son, Charlie (played by Kevin Ryan), a top police investigator. Charlie, who is working on a bizarre murder case that has striking similarities to an old Elizabethan play, calls on Harry for help. Harry enlists Fergus (played by Rohan Nedd) as a sidekick rather than handing him over to the police when their paths meet again.
As a result of her engagement in the investigation, Harry develops a newfound enthusiasm for life. As she and Fergus investigate, they discover a serial killer obsessed with Dostoyevsky, a group of snuff-gambling thugs, and the strangulation of a wealthy Dublin matron through video call. Lastly, Harry’s new enthusiasm brings her into direct confrontation with Charlie, who really needs his mother’s presence at work to keep things running smoothly.
Cast
Jane Seymour plays Harry Wild. Rohan Nedd plays Fergus Reid. Kevin Ryan (from Days of our Lives and The Blacklist) plays Charlie, Harry’s son. Also, Ciara O’Callaghan plays Vivan Maynard. Stuart Graham plays Ray Tiernan. Rose O’Neill plays Lola, Harry’s grandkid. Also, Anthony Delaney plays Jordan MacDonald, Danielle Ryan plays Vicky, and Amy Huberman plays Orla. Morgan C Jones plays Professor Graham. Lastly, rounding up the cast we have Serena Kennedy, Isabelle Connoly, Gina Costigan, Conor Lambert, Paul Tylak, and Stephen Hogan.
Harry Wild Episode 2 Recap
This episode is titled “Samurai Plague Doctors Kill for Kicks”. And it goes like this: The black-clad villain in the plague doctor’s mask and camera explains that it’s merely “a game” as they toss their victim over the parking garage parapet in a pig mask. The Squid Game will be in Dublin.
The murder victim’s widow contacts Harry and Fergus, who have become local superstars. A body camera and paper clippings promoting mysterious games are some of the proof she’s gathered to disprove her husband’s suicide. On the other hand, Harry isn’t interested in taking on any more cases. She informs Fergus that Kayleigh is an anomaly. She isn’t one-half of a talented squad but rather a tutor for his son.
A Piqued Interest
On the other hand, Fergus is interested and returns to the local newspapers for further information. Adverts for the games ask for specific professions––baker, landscaper, dentist––followed by species of animals, and the dates of the games match with accidental or suicide deaths across several years. Fergus gives Harry the Reid family migraine remedy the following morning to lure Harry into investigating what may be a cough snuff game.
Glen Talbot, Charlie’s boss, tells him to “keep your mom on a tight leash” while he’s at work. Both Glen and the District Commissioner’s employment are at peril because Glen is married to the Commissioner. Despite this, Harry can’t stay away from her son’s family. She visits her son’s house, takes over Orla’s cooking, and urges Charlie to take Harry to the room to “sort him out” when he gets home. She warns them that a guy his age cannot handle too much stress. The door has been slammed shut on her.
To Cooperate Or Not…That Is The Question
On their way home, they stop by to see the man who put the advertising in the local newspaper, where Harry charms him into helping him out. She believes he seems like a messenger boy, and he’s so uncooperative that he’s ready to flee. A man named Gary Wheelan was on the other end of the phone when it was stolen by Fergus, who popped out of an alley.
The moment Fergus returns home, he discovers his father card-playing with several of the neighborhood thugs. Despite Fergus’ displeasure, he pulls his father (Shane Lynch) aside and asks him if he knows anything about Wheelan, given that one of the men, Happy (Liam Carney), is a loan shark! His bookkeeper Eric, a passionate pigeon breeder and owner of a used furniture company, is familiar with him—vicious and dangerous.
Fergus Finds Out Something
Pretending to be a client, Fergus enters the shop through the rear entrance as Harry begins a long, rambling discussion on ottomans. He discovers a laptop and a bundle of new, unopened body cameras in a near escape. She returns to the store after Harry and Fergus join up and tells Eric she’s giving him a chance at survival by shedding her initial image. “This time of year in South America is beautiful.” The laptop’s password was extracted from him even after he stabbed her in the neck with a kitchen knife (she and Fergus already had tried his favorite pigeon’s name).
A Harrowing Discovery
The laptop shows the specifics of the horror game, which is being broadcast live on the dark web, but it does not indicate who the main villain or the killer is. Harry isn’t playing around this time. She charms Ray’s employer at the station and delivers the evidence to Charlie. They were able to catch Wheelan passing out masquerade masks to three participants, who had to dodge 24 hours of police chase to earn 100,000 euros. However, a person in a scourge doctor costume is watching the arrest.
Looking On
A new advertisement has been positioned, and Wheelan refuses to cooperate, so Charlie calls Harry to inform her. Because of the bent cop, Harry has been warned by him that she isn’t safe. After getting a call from a mysterious interviewer who claims to be a journalist, Harry runs into trouble when she finds that he knows exactly where she is and telephones Fergus in a fit of rage. He tells her to put her phone on airplane mode, and she goes to his house for shelter. Harry is introduced to Fergus’s father, a caseworker, and his younger sister, Libby, by Fergus. She reveals that Harry has a special place in her brother’s heart because of this.
We Get To Know More Of Fergus
Fergus shares personal details about his upbringing. Before long, his grandma had moved in and stayed for a few years until she died. To which Harry responds: “Why did you rob me?” He reveals to her that his dad owes Happy the loan shark money from his father’s past. Libby’s arm was in jeopardy when Happy’s father discovered he was three euros shy when collecting the money. When Fergus rushed out of the house in a fit of rage, Harry was the first individual he met. Fergus claims his father gives it his all, but as Harry points out, even his best isn’t all that great.
He does not want to implicate Fergus’s family while Harry is in danger. Her home base is the school, where she unlocks her phone and sets up the video cameras in an area of the building that is being redecorated. Three plague doctors show in, each equipped with an old samurai sword they’ve been saving for just such a moment. With a can of industrial adhesive and her trusty taser at her disposal, Harry outwits them. He leads them on a chase, locking one in a room, tripping another upon the stairway, before eventually confronting #3.
The End
From his grammar and accent, Harry can tell that he’s a well-to-do man who went to Oxford’s famed Balliol College. Nevertheless, who exactly is this man? When he removes the disguise, we have no idea who he is. And if he’s a paying customer, doesn’t this imply that the genius of the games is still at large? There is no surprise in this episode, but the ending scenes, which include races up the stairs, the killer becoming trapped in the solvent, and Fergus arriving at the rescue while grumbling about his blades’ sharp, are entertaining enough.
