The Beatles’ former drummer was Randolph Peter Best, also known as Pete Best. He was born to an Indian mother and an English father in Madras, India. Afterward, his mother, Mona, became the proprietor of Liverpool’s Casbah Club, where The Beatles occasionally played.
Best served as the firm’s drummer from 1960 until August 16, 1962, when he was dismissed and replaced by Ringo Starr by the band and their top coach, Brian Epstein. The possible explanation was that Best’s drumming abilities were not up to par when the group auditioned for EMI, and music producer George Martin wanted to replace him on their songs.
Following her devastation, Best unsuccessfully attempted to start other bands, and later, he worked for the government. Best made a sizeable profit from the sale of The Beatles’ 1995 Anthology albums, which included some recordings with him on them. He also discovered a new career playing the drums with more skill than he had previously displayed while performing at Beatles-related events like conventions.
How the best career started with a simple audition
Arguably the most shameful firing in rock history took place. The Beatles fired drummer Pete Best before they finished their first single. Just two months prior, the group had actually passed an audition for Parlophone Records. In addition to being the best, producer George Martin liked and respected what he listened to.
Best told the Beatles that the drummer for the audio tapes would be a session musician but that he could perform onstage. After discussing the situation with supervisor Brian Epstein, the other Beatles made the decision to sever ties with Best. The group let Epstein handle the conversation after he summoned Best to his office and informed him that he was no longer available.
Pete Best is a well-known Beatles drummer
Best joined the Beatles nearly exactly two years earlier when they required a drummer for their forthcoming residency in Hamburg, near Germany. He was known in Liverpool as “average, moody, as well as magnificent.” Only a few days before they traveled, he had his audition.
Best even continued to refuse to get the short “Beatles haircut,” proving that his gloomy personality did not mesh well with the witty Beatles. However, among their female fan base, he was initially the Beatle who was most well-liked. Best has long maintained that his dismissal was the result of their enviousness of his good looks.
Why Pete should be fired from his position as drummer
One of those unanswered questions that have persisted for nearly 50 years is why Pete Best, The Beatles’ original drummer, was dismissed in 1962. Even Best has admitted that he will never fully understand why he was passed over, despite being told that he was not as good as Ringo Starr. The following theory, which has nothing to do with music and everything to do with personality, explains why Best was fired.
The early fans who packed the Cavern Club to see their performances still adored him. One of those unanswered questions that have persisted for nearly 50 years is why Pete Best, The Beatles’ original drummer, was dismissed in 1962.

Pete’s firing statement!
According to Pete, being fired as a successful drummer at that high peak of professional life was hurtful, but he stated that the Beatles might find a better drummer than him, but he has given his best to the team and will never forget the experience he has gained there.
He also added that it was up to the Beatles to choose between him and safeguarding their future at some point, and he respected what they did at that time. Now, he has completely forgiven everyone—and himself too. He also said that he could wish things went better than this, but it happens for the best.
