Right now, fans are pretty curious about why did Xander leave Bunk’d after just two seasons, and we are here to explain it all. The series threw light on a comedy-drama that was made by the Disney Channel in 2015. The episodes serve as a spinoff of Jessie.
The plot focuses on Emma, Ravi as well as Zuri as they leave New York City. The kids go to Moose Rump in Maine to spend their summer at a camp called Kikiwaka. Turns out that their parents wanted them to attend the same as they met here.
Throughout the episodes, we see the adventures led by the Ross children as well as the friends that they made at camp. Also, the backstory of the camp is insane. It has been open despite the fact that there have been various safety allegations against the same, and it has violated a lot of health codes.
Xander Says Goodbye – Episode Details
Coming to Xander and the whole character, we saw how he left Bunk’d after two seasons. Although, it made his fans like me really upset because we wanted to see more of him and his friendship with the kids. In the plot, we saw how Xander had to leave early in order to start his practice for the high school football team.
The episode titled Xander Says Goodbye starts off with his father, Gerald, coming to camp to pick his son up. Xander needs to go back to school as he has made his high school football team and has to practice for the same. Well, the sad part about it all was the fact that Xander did not want to leave himself. He is thriving at the camp and having a great time.
He also does not have a lot of interest in football, and that is why he is reluctant to go and join the team. Emma, as well as Lou and Ravi, were all seen trying to make him stay at the camp. In the end, he ultimately decides to go back and cut the fun short. As for his father, Gerald, he is really disappointed that Xander does not want to play football.
Well, he eventually comes to realize the fact that his son’s happiness is the most important and understands the reason behind the same. As for Xander, he promises his friend Emma and the rest of the group that he will visit them at camp soon.
The episode also showed us that Gerald is a successful businessman who is also very demanding of his son. He wants Xander to play football and become a professional. Although, the kid does not share the same passion as his father. As for Emma, she was really upset that Xander had to go but understood his sentiments as well. She promised to stay in touch with him and visit him from time to time. The kids also arrange for a farewell party for Xander which they enjoy with him one last time.
Why Did Xander Leave Bunk’d?
Coming to Kevin Quinn, the actor who played Xander in the show, also had to leave the series Bunk’d. At the time, he was cast in another Disney show in a lead role. The series was called Liv and Maddie: Cali Style. This might be the main reason why he had to leave Bunk’d because of scheduling issues. He cannot be present at both the filming at the same time.
Along with that, as soon as season 3 was announced, there were a few changes that came along with the same. It was revealed that the new seasons will now focus more on the younger characters on the screen, such as Emma and Ravi. There also will be new characters who are going to play the part of their elder siblings.
This might be one of the reasons why Xander was written out of the story, as it made him less important in the story and the creative direction that was being taken. Ultimately, the exit of both the character and actor from the show was a result of a combination of factors and the story on which the series was trying to cast its focus.
