Woori The Virgin is an ongoing south Korean television series. Written and directed by Jeong Jeong Hwa, the show stars some of Korean entertainment’s best. Along with Im Soo Hyang, the show also casts Sung Hoon, Shin Dong Wook, and Hong Ji Yoon. ‘Woori the Virgin’ is a remake of the American tv series Jane the Virgin. This K-drama aired on SBS TV on May 9, 2022. The show has a promising start, with a really intriguing plot. ‘Woori the Virgin’ cast Im Soo Hyang, My ID Is Gangnam Beauty, as the female lead. Many were skeptical about the beginning of the show and if Woori The Virgin would be worth the watch, but once the cast was revealed, all suspicions dissolved.
If it weren’t for the well-thought cast, the k-drama wouldn’t receive much hype. Shin Dong Wook, who plays Lee Gang Jae, appeared to be the comfort character of many. This is because his role was so calm, and his personality in the show seemed so thoughtful and considerate. That being the obvious reason, many, including myself, fell madly in love with his role. However, like in many romantic genres, there is always another guy.
What To Expect From the K-Drama ‘Woori the Virgin’?
Like all cliche romantic shows, drama is key, and there is always another guy. In ‘Woori the Virgin,’ of course, the female lead already has a significant other. The male and female leads, Oh Woori and Lee Kang Jae, both have traditions to uphold. Both partners’ families request that the two get married and then become all lovey-dovey. Naturally, since both love and respect their family traditions, they do not argue. Until a certain cliche turn of events changes the lives of everyone. In ‘Woori the Virgin,’ Raphael, the ‘other’ guy who has Oh Woori questioning her basic morals, makes his entry into the show. A real dramatic, stereotypical entrance at that.
Oh Woori believes the only man for her is the one she’s currently together with, till Raphael, a dashing man with heavy connections, rocks her world. Along with being a stunning mystery, Raphael is shown to be a rebel too. A lethal combination for a woman feeling deprived of a little color in her life. Obviously, Oh Woori debates all her feelings. About her current partner and about this new gentleman. Because she can’t help herself, Oh Woori falls for this new guy. As most of the story begins to unfold, the series reaches a dramatic climax. But in all of this, what happens to Lee Kang Jae? The sweet and caring boyfriend.
The kind, considerate, ideal boyfriend. Why is it that all the good ones are never fully loved? It makes no sense for Oh Woori to leave the guy that never left her, even in her darkest times. Right? I mean, who in their right mind would abandon something so one of a kind for just one night with a rebel? Unless there’s more to Raphael than meets the eye. What if he’s not the typical rule-breaker and has a heart bigger than he wants to let on. Is that why Oh Woori is hesitating between the two? You’ll just have to wait and find out.
