A list of one of the most iconic and successful franchises existing in today’s entertainment world would have to include the classic Star Wars films. The grand space drama that the Star Wars films are today all come from the creator George Lucas, the man who made the first-ever star wars movie way back in the year 1977.
Since the franchise has branched into all forms of unique and appealing content, which includes putting out more films, comics, figurines, video games, books, and just about anything that could help them build a completely different universe.
Lucas released the first three Star Wars films and then returned to make three more as the prequel to the first trilogy, after which Disney went on to release three more as the sequel to the first trilogy. All of the nine movies have been much appreciated by fans and critics, with the first two even receiving an Academy Award.
The Star Wars universe is based on a timeline that apparently goes way back, probably even before humans existed. In a universe completely detached from ours. Star Wars has aliens, robots, and all the fantastical equipment with unbelievably advanced technology, a literal dream for many.
One such recent addition to the universe is the Star Wars Rebels animation series. The series released its first-ever episode on October 3rd, 2014, and is set almost a decade after Episode III: Revenge of The Sith timeline, gradually moving towards the original Star Wars timeline.
Star Wars Rebel: Ahsoka & Vader
The show is based almost a decade after the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order Empire crumbled, and the Galactic Empire established its reign. Spectres Unite is a group of rebels trying to rebel and work against the empire that is based around the planet Lothal among many others.
In all of this, there are two characters, not the leads this time but definitely recurring, Ahsoka and Vader, that turned out to be impressive as always. Ahsoka Tano, played by Ashley Eckstein, is the former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker and also someone who helps the Spectres Unite in their rebellion against the strong empire force by providing them with valuable assets.
Actor James Earl Jones plays Darth Vader in the show, who is a pupil under Darth Sidious, but used to be a strong Sith lord, the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. The two characters have been mentioned in other Star Wars films and shows, so the fans would know that the two share a complex mentor-mentee relationship.
And till their big showdown scene in Star Wars Rebels, the two had actually not met for very long, and it was not until the middle of the fight that Ahsoka realized that she had been dueling with her master all along.
Ahsoka & Vader: The Legendary Fight
Fans of the show agree that the faceoff between the master, i.e., Vader, and the student, i.e., Ahsoka was one of the best fight scenes throughout the entire show. We got to see how Ahsoka used skills from her master on her master himself. In season two, the finale episode ended with their big fight leaving fans wanting more.
It does not really start off as a duel between the two but more as Ahsoka trying to save Ezra from getting killed. Vader wishes to kill all of the Jedi in the temple and refuses to believe Ahsoka when she says that he has killed them all already. This angers Ahsoka even more, and she claims that her master could really not be this evil and cruel.
Vader replies that Anakin Skywalker is already dead. Wanting to avenge her master’s death, the two engage in a duel, which feels like an opportunity for Ahsoka to show her capabilities. At one point, it feels that Ahsoka is gone, but she manages to come back and continue her fight. She is able to get his lightsaber away from him and also scrapes away half his helmet.
It is enough for her to get a glimpse of his face and realize that she had been fighting her master all along, after all. In the meantime, the others with her get ready to escape the crumbling temple, but Ahsoka has had a change of heart and refuses to leave her master.
The others are pushed out of the temple while they continue on with the fight till the temple finally collapses on itself, seemingly killing the two.
