Ava also mentions Season 1’s enormous cliffhanger, in which she says she’s still trying to figure out what occurred. The last episode’s cliffhanger saw Ava set to engage in battle against Adriel’s army after Adriel tried to fool Ava earlier in the finale into thinking he was an angel when, in fact, he was a demon who misled the Catholic Church for ages.
Despite the abundance of new footage, the teaser barely adds anything to the ongoing story we didn’t already know. Ava suggests that her warrior nuns were defeated in the cliffhanger, ending the struggle against Adriel. Viewers also witness her continuing to accept her fate and perfect her abilities in preparation for the conflict ahead. Some interesting sights, such as Ava running on water and battle sequences, will remind fans of the series’ greatest strength. When Season 1 of the show centered on Ava fighting with the OCS and the rich backstory, including religious intrigue and corruption, it proved to be one of the most thrilling episodes Netflix had to offer. The fight scenes and aesthetics were outstanding.
